Associate II Global Mobility Coordinator

This role is responsible for assisting with the organization’s global mobility tax functions. These functions include establishing and maintaining the organization's global mobility tax processes, reporting, compliance and initiatives.
The Global Mobility Coordinator provides operational support for Thoughtworks’s complex global mobility programs, enabling the compliant movement of employees across borders in alignment with business, legal, tax, and contractual requirements. This role requires strong critical thinking, judgment, and the ability to navigate ambiguous, high stakes situations involving international assignment policies, cross-functional inputs, and regulatory obligations.
You will work closely with the Global Mobility Operations team, internal stakeholders, and external vendors to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant international assignment processing, while supporting a large and diverse assignee population across multiple global regions.
Key Responsibilities
International Assignment & Program Execution

Prepare and update the complete international assignment documentation, files, and contract-related materials supporting complex expatriate arrangements.

Maintain accurate data in assignment management systems (MyMobility) to ensure compliance with Thoughtworks policies, government regulations, and international requirements.

Support invoice reviews and documentation workflows involving multiple stakeholders and policy frameworks.
Critical Thinking & Issue Resolution

Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to review unique assignment cases, interpret guidelines, and recommend appropriate resolutions.

Ideally, the candidate will utilize critical judgment to identify and resolve issues, investigate root causes, and oversee collaborative corrective actions across various teams.

Ability to proactively assess the subsequent effects of decisions across payroll, tax, immigration, benefits, finance, and compliance areas.
Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination

Partner with external vendors, government agencies, and mobility service providers regarding documentation, services, compliance requirements, and invoicing.

Coordinate with Payroll/Tax, HR, Finance, Total Rewards, and other departments to ensure alignment in assignment execution and resolution of escalated issues.
Data, Reporting & Compliance

Prepare, analyze, and maintain data used for cost estimations, Authorisation files, audits, and compliance reviews.

Use Workday, MyMobility, G-drive and other tools to ensure accurate data capture and reporting across assignment workflows.
Operational Excellence

Participate in the ongoing optimization of global mobility tools, templates, processes, and cross-functional workflows.

Support broader Global Mobility and HR Operations initiatives focused on enhancing efficiency, compliance, documentation accuracy, and service delivery.

Comfortable with learning global tax laws relating to expats

Experience with communicating internally across regions and with vendors
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related discipline.

4+ years of experience in global mobility support.

Experience handling confidential information and supporting complex HR processes.

Experience with managing & being discreet about sensitive data like global mobility compensation, payroll data.

Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, including the ability to assess nuanced scenarios, interpret policy implications, and develop informed recommendations.

Demonstrated ability to investigate, diagnose, and resolve issues independently.

High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Ability to work independently in a remote environment, managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines.

Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.

Flexibility to work in different time zones.
