Job Overview:
ThriveCart is seeking an exceptional Chief Operating Officer to serve as a key strategic partner to the CEO and drive operational excellence across ThriveCart. This role demands a versatile leader who can balance strategic vision with hands-on execution, optimize costs while maintaining quality, and ensure seamless coordination across all business functions. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable reviewing financial metrics, managing complex projects, and guiding cross-functional teams toward ambitious milestones.
What Your Work Will Entail:
- Serve as the right hand to the CEO, providing strategic counsel and operational leadership
- Translate company vision and strategy into actionable operational plans and executable initiatives
- Act as a sounding board for strategic decisions and business challenges
- Lead key meetings and represent the CEO when needed in operational matters
- Oversee day-to-day operations across all departments ensuring alignment with company objectives
- Develop and implement operational processes, systems, and best practices to drive efficiency and scalability
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational health and success
- Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, implementing solutions to optimize workflow and resource utilization
- Lead company-wide cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality and performance standards
- Conduct regular analysis of operating expenses, vendor contracts, and resource allocation to identify savings opportunities
- Develop and manage operational budgets across departments, ensuring fiscal responsibility
- Negotiate with vendors and service providers to secure favorable terms and pricing
- Implement data-driven decision making processes to maximize ROI on operational investments
- Oversee and coordinate strategic projects and initiatives across the organization
- Establish project management frameworks, methodologies, and governance structures
- Set clear milestones, timelines, and success metrics for company initiatives
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and resources to achieve project objectives
- Partner with product and engineering teams to oversee product development roadmaps
- Ensure roadmap alignment with business strategy, customer needs, and market opportunities
- Balance competing priorities and resource constraints to optimize delivery schedules
- Track progress against roadmap commitments and communicate updates to stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement in development processes and time-to-market
- Build, lead, and mentor high-performing teams across operational functions
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
- Develop talent within the organization through coaching, training, and professional development opportunities
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across departments
- Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned by the CEO
- Support business development activities, partnerships, and strategic growth opportunities
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and industry standards
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and external meetings when needed
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required to support company success
What You Bring To This Role:
- Proven track record of successfully scaling operations in high-growth technology or SaaS companies
- Demonstrated expertise in cost optimization and financial management with measurable results
- Strong project management skills with experience overseeing complex, cross-functional initiatives
- Deep understanding of product development processes and technology roadmap management
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels
Experience and Education:
- 10+ years of progressive operational leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior executive role
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Experience in e-commerce, payments, or fintech industries
- Track record of successful business transformation and change management initiatives
- Experience with remote or distributed team management
- Technical background or strong technical acumen
- Previous experience supporting a CEO or founder in a COO or similar executive capacity
