We're looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Quality Assurance Engineer L2 to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of ThriveCart's platform and features. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing and executing comprehensive test strategies, automating critical test scenarios, and collaborating cross-functionally to deliver high-quality products that delight our merchants. You'll work closely with engineering, product, and design teams to catch issues early, ensure seamless user experiences, and maintain our platform's reputation for reliability—whether testing checkout flows, payment integrations, or new product features.

What Your Work Will Entail:
- Design, execute, and maintain comprehensive test plans and test cases for new features, enhancements, and platform updates across web and mobile interfaces.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites using appropriate testing frameworks and tools to improve testing efficiency and coverage.
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing to ensure product quality meets ThriveCart's standards.
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers during the development lifecycle to understand requirements, identify edge cases, and ensure testability of features.
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution, working closely with engineering teams to ensure timely fixes.
- Participate in release planning and coordinate testing activities across multiple product teams and release cycles.
- Monitor production systems for quality issues and contribute to post-release analysis and continuous improvement efforts.
- Contribute to QA process improvements, tool evaluations, and testing strategy refinements.
What You Bring to This Role (don't worry if you don't have this whole list- we expect you to learn with us):
- Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, including functional, regression, integration, and performance testing approaches.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Jest, or similar) and ability to write and maintain automated test scripts.
- Solid technical skills including understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), APIs, databases, and browser development tools.
- Experience testing payment systems, financial transactions, or eCommerce platforms with attention to accuracy and security requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to identify edge cases and potential failure scenarios.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to work effectively across engineering, product, and design teams.
- Experience with bug tracking tools (e.g., Jira, Linear) and version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Detail-oriented mindset with ability to balance thoroughness with delivery timelines in agile environments.
- 2–4 years of experience in quality assurance or software testing, preferably in SaaS, eCommerce, or fintech environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field preferred but not required.
- Equivalent practical experience in software testing, quality assurance, or related technical roles may substitute for formal education.
- Certifications in software testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) or test automation tools are a plus but not mandatory.
- Experience working in agile development environments with cross-functional teams focused on continuous delivery.
- Experience with payment processing, subscription billing, or financial transaction testing is highly valued.
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) or accessibility testing is considered a plus.
