About the Role
The primary purpose of the position is to perform a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment, distribution, lighting, or utilization of electric energy.
What You'll Be Doing
- Install, maintain, and repair a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems.
- Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, layouts, and specifications to plan and assign work effectively.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Perform calculations related to electrical loads, wiring requirements, and system performance.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Ensure work areas are cleaned and restored after maintenance tasks are completed.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Must be knowledgeable of national and local electrical codes
- Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, and appliances needed for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical circuits, related fixtures, and hardware.
- Active state or local electrician licensure (Journeyman or Master Electrician) as required for this position.
- Must be able to follow maintenance instructions, schedules and inspection of work orders and other job assignments.
- Must be able to perform maintenance services, diagnose systems or equipment malfunctions, and complete repairs when required.
- Must have knowledge of the composition, operation, and installation of a variety of electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls.
- Must be able to plan, layout, and complete the installation, modification, and repair of various electrical systems, circuits, equipment, and controls.
- Must be able to interpret and apply building plans, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings. Must be skilled in the use of a wide variety of test equipment such as voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, and ohmmeter.
- Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work from a scissor lift and/or articulating boom lift.
- Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
- Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE
