Job Title: Custodial Supervisor  

Work Location: NSF Suitland – NMIC  

Labor Category: Non-Exempt (CBA – Union Represented) 

Clearance Level: Secret or Top Secret/SCI Clearance  

Travel Requirement: 25% 

Pay Rate: $80,000 - 90,000 DOE

Scope of Work: 

The primary purpose of this position is to provide day-to-day leadership, scheduling, training, inspection oversight, and hands-on custodial support as needed while promoting safety, accountability, and high-quality service delivery. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Supervise and coordinate daily custodial operations, work assignments, staffing coverage, and cleaning schedules to ensure facilities are maintained in a clean, safe, sanitary, and professional manner. 
  • Serve as a working supervisor by actively assisting the team with custodial and janitorial duties as needed to support operational requirements and staffing coverage. 
  • Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and operational priorities to ensure timely completion of work assignments. 
  • Ensure personnel comply with company policies, customer requirements, safety procedures, sanitation standards, and operational expectations. 
  • Conduct routine inspections of facilities, equipment, supplies, and completed work to ensure quality standards and contract requirements are consistently maintained. 
  • Assist with troubleshooting custodial equipment, operational concerns, supply shortages, and customer service issues while coordinating corrective actions as needed. 
  • Provide day-to-day leadership, training, mentorship, onboarding support, and performance guidance to custodial personnel. 
  • Maintain accurate records, schedules, reports, labor hours, and inventory documentation while coordinating with management and customer representatives to support operational requirements. 
  • Ensure custodial supplies, cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment are properly maintained, stocked, and utilized in accordance with safety standards. 
  • Support emergency response, after-hours coverage, and special cleaning requirements as needed while promoting a professional, team-oriented work environment. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

 

Requirements: 

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in custodial operations, janitorial services, facilities support, or related field with progressive leadership or supervisory experience. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead personnel while actively supporting field operations. 
  • Ability to read, interpret, and follow technical manuals, safety procedures, work orders, operational instructions, and written/verbal directions in English, including understanding the proper use and application of cleaning chemicals and products. 
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, products and equipment, including knowledge of the Hazardous Materials Information System  
  • Must hold and maintain a Tier 5 background check (Top Secret / SCI Clearance). 
  • Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite. 
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.

Physical Demands / Work Environment: 

  • Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. 
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, squatting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. 
  • Repetitive use of hands and arms for cleaning tasks and operation of custodial equipment. 
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity required for detail cleaning and safe equipment use. 
  • Work performed primarily indoors in offices, restrooms, hallways, and common areas, with occasional outdoor cleaning assignments. 
  • Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, and waste materials; personal protective equipment (PPE) provided and required. 
  • May work in occupied or unoccupied facilities; must maintain professional conduct around military personnel and civilian staff. 
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays. 
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE.    

US Pay Range

$80,000 - $90,000 USD
