Job Title: Fire Technician II

Work Location: Guam

Labor Category: Full-Time | Non-Exempt - CBA 

Pay Rate: $30.94 per hour

Health & Welfare: $5.56 per hour


About the Role 

The Fire Technician provides base operations support by inspecting, testing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing fire protection systems to ensure operational readiness, life safety, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and manufacturer requirements.

 

What You'll Be Doing

 

  • Inspect, test, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm, detection, suppression, and life safety systems in accordance with NFPA standards, manufacturer specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Service fire protection systems in special hazard environments, including aircraft hangars, server rooms, commercial kitchens, and other mission-critical facilities.
  • Perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on fire alarm equipment, initiating devices, notification appliances, control panels, signaling circuits, and transmission systems.
  • Inspect, test, and maintain wet-pipe and dry-pipe sprinkler systems.
  • Inspect, monitor, recharge, or replace suppression system storage containers and associated components as required.
  • Accurately document inspections, testing, maintenance, repairs, and deficiencies using computerized maintenance management or reporting systems.
  • Complete all required training and certifications within established timeframes.
  • Deliver high-quality workmanship while providing excellent customer service.
  • Comply with all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.

 

What We're Looking For

  • 3–5 years of experience installing, inspecting, maintaining, or repairing fire alarm, mass notification, security/access control, or other life safety systems.
  • NICET Level II Certification in Fire Alarm  and Special Hazard Systems required.
  • ICC or NAFED Certification in Pre-Engineered Kitchen Fire Extinguishing Systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), reporting software, and data entry.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety standards, OSHA regulations, and safe work practices.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain access to U.S. government facilities.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and criminal background check.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with a safe driving record in accordance with company policy.

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities including pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, and prolonged standing or walking.
  • Ability to work on-call and extended or alternate shifts as needed to support mission requirements, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, at elevated heights, and around energized equipment or other workplace hazards while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

US Pay Range

$30.94 - $30.94 USD
