About the Role
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring that all maintenance operations comply with customer, company, contractual, and regulatory quality standards. This position leads the Quality Control Program, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and serves as the primary point of contact for all quality-related matters to ensure contract compliance and operational excellence.
What You'll Be Doing
- Establish and maintain quality standards for maintenance operations based on contract requirements and customer specifications.
- Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections to verify compliance with quality standards throughout the organization.
- Review inspection findings, performance metrics, and maintenance data to evaluate operational effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain the technical data reference library and manage the identification, documentation, and reporting of technical data deficiencies.
- Prepare and present quality assurance reports summarizing inspection results, trends, corrective actions, and overall program performance to the customer and Project Manager.
- Administer and continuously improve the Contractor's Quality Control Plan to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all quality-related matters with the Contracting Officer (CO), Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), and other government stakeholders.
- Investigate customer complaints and quality deficiencies, implement corrective and preventive actions, monitor their effectiveness, and document results in accordance with contract requirements.
- Provide leadership and supervision to quality control personnel, ensuring daily activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established standards.
- Collaborate with project leadership and operational teams to promote continuous process improvement and maintain a culture of quality.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 5 years of combined experience serving in one or more of the following roles on construction or maintenance projects of similar size, scope, and complexity:
- Superintendent
- Quality Control Manager
- Project Manager
- Project Engineer
- Minimum of 5 years of direct experience serving as a Quality Control Manager on comparable government or commercial contracts.
- Current Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) certification is highly preferred.
- Successful completion of the Construction Quality Management (CQM) for Contractors course with a current, valid certificate.
- Working knowledge of USACE EM 385-1-1, including hazard identification, safety compliance, and quality management requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), such as Maximo, is preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record in accordance with company policy.
