About the Role
The primary purpose of this position is to lead and manage environmental, energy, and sustainability programs in support of contract operations. The Environmental/Energy Manager (EEM) ensures compliance with the Environmental Management System (EMS), Installation Energy Plan, and applicable regulatory and sustainability requirements while identifying opportunities to improve environmental performance, energy efficiency, and overall operational sustainability.
What You'll Be Doing
- Ensure Contractor operations align with the goals, policies, and requirements of the Environmental Management System (EMS).
- Support and monitor implementation of the Installation Energy Plan and applicable federal sustainability requirements.
- Develop, implement, and monitor environmental strategies, policies, and programs that promote sustainable development and contract compliance.
- Review contract activities to identify opportunities for environmental, energy, and water performance improvements.
- Monitor compliance with applicable environmental legislation, regulations, federal energy laws, policies, and contract requirements.
- Support energy and water reduction initiatives and applicable renewable energy requirements.
- Conduct environmental and energy inspections, assessments, and compliance reviews and track corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain environmental, sustainability, energy, and water performance documentation and reporting required by the contract.
- Coordinate with site personnel, subcontractors, project leadership, and government representatives on environmental and energy matters.
- Provide guidance and awareness to employees regarding environmental, sustainability, and energy requirements.
- Support contract reporting, audits, and other government requests related to environmental and energy performance.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience with environmental procedures.
- Familiarity with Environmental Management Systems (EMS).
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations, with specific knowledge of California environmental requirements and compliance standards.
- Knowledge of federal energy laws and policies, including energy and water reduction requirements and renewable energy requirements.
- Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, energy management, sustainability, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with work order systems such as Maximo preferred.
- Experience supporting federal installations or working within the government contracting environment preferred.
- Must be able to maintain the ability to access the government worksite.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and a safe driving record, in accordance with company policy, to operate vehicles or equipment as required for the position.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- This position is primarily performed in an office setting; however, regular site visits and field inspections are required. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and navigate active work sites when necessary. This may include standing, walking, bending, or climbing for extended periods while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
US Pay Range
$115,000 - $130,000 USD
