Pay Rate: $26.72 per hour

Health & Welfare: $7.50 per hour


About the Role 

The Painter is responsible for preparing, painting, refinishing, and maintaining interior and exterior surfaces of facilities, buildings, structures, and equipment. The position performs a variety of painting and surface preparation activities to ensure high-quality, durable finishes while maintaining compliance with safety requirements, company policies, and project specifications.

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Prepares surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, caulking, filling, and priming as required.
  • Applies paint, stain, varnish, epoxy coatings, sealants, and other protective or decorative finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other appropriate application methods.
  • Paints and refinishes interior and exterior walls, ceilings, doors, floors, structures, equipment, and other facility components.
  • Repairs and prepares damaged surfaces, including drywall, plaster, wood, metal, and other materials, prior to applying finishes.
  • Mixes, matches, and adjusts paints and coatings to achieve specified colors, textures, and finishes.
  • Operates, cleans, and maintains painting tools, equipment, spray systems, ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and related equipment.
  • Selects appropriate paints, coatings, primers, and application methods based on surface type, environmental conditions, and project requirements.
  • Inspects completed work to ensure proper coverage, finish quality, appearance, and compliance with applicable specifications.
  • Maintains clean, organized, and safe work areas and properly stores paints, chemicals, tools, and equipment.
  • Estimates material requirements and assists with inventory management to ensure adequate supplies are available for assigned projects.
  • Completes work orders, maintenance records, inspection documentation, and other required reports accurately and timely.
  • Follows applicable safety regulations, OSHA requirements, manufacturer instructions, company policies, and established procedures for the safe handling and use of paints, coatings, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned to support facility operations and maintenance requirements.

 

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of related experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of professional painting experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, coatings, and finishing methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, specifications, product instructions, and safety procedures.
  • Proficiency in the safe use of hand tools, power equipment, spray systems, ladders, scaffolding, and lifts used in painting and maintenance work.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record preferred, in accordance with company policy.

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities including pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules as necessary to meet mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions and environments.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various occupational hazards while using required personal protective equipment (PPE).

US Pay Range

$26.72 - $26.72 USD
