About the Role 

The Heavy Equipment / Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of facility heavy equipment and industrial machinery. Equipment may include cranes, diesel generators, hydraulic systems, power distribution systems, pumps, conveyors, motors, and other mechanical and electrical systems. The position requires the ability to diagnose equipment failures, interpret technical drawings and schematics, safely operate tools and equipment, and perform timely repairs to maintain reliable facility operations and minimize equipment downtime.

 

What You'll Be Doing

  • Inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains pumps, generators, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other industrial equipment.
  • Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on cranes, diesel generators, hydraulic systems, power distribution equipment, and other facility machinery.
  • Maintains and repairs roll-up doors, sectional doors, dock levelers, and associated mechanical systems.
  • Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and performs adjustments, alignment, lubrication, and replacement of components such as belts, chains, bearings, shafts, pulleys, and other mechanical parts.
  • Uses diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues and determine appropriate corrective actions.
  • Reads and interprets mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and technical documentation to support maintenance, repair, and installation activities.
  • Performs welding, cutting, fabrication, and other maintenance-related repairs as required.
  • Assists with equipment installations, modifications, testing, and commissioning activities.
  • Maintains accurate maintenance records, work orders, service reports, inspection documentation, and inventory records.
  • Coordinates with other maintenance personnel, contractors, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues efficiently.
  • Maintains clean, organized, and safe work areas and properly stores tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Completes required training and maintains current knowledge of applicable equipment, maintenance practices, and safety requirements.
  • Performs assigned work in accordance with established quality standards, schedules, and operational requirements.
  • Follows company policies, procedures, OSHA requirements, safety practices, and applicable environmental and workplace regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or vocational training in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, or a related field preferred.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of industrial maintenance, machinery maintenance, or related experience; experience with power generation equipment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of pumps, generators, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, cranes, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and related industrial equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain complex mechanical and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation.
  • Proficiency in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, welding and fabrication equipment, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and methods for minimizing equipment downtime and extending equipment service life.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record in accordance with company policy.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, adapt to changing operational requirements, and meet established deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of workplace safety practices, OSHA standards, and applicable occupational hazards.

 

Physical Demands & Work Environment\

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical activities including pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing, and reaching for extended periods.
  • Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules as necessary to meet mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
  • Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions and environments.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around moving machinery and other occupational hazards while using required personal protective equipment (PPE).

US Pay Range

$27.80 - $27.80 USD
