About the Partnerships Team
The Partnerships team is a pivotal force in Thumbtack's expansion, dedicated to forging strategic B2B alliances that unlock substantial and sustainable customer growth. We operate at the intersection of innovation and execution, collaborating closely with cross-functional leaders in product, sales, engineering, design, and marketing. Together, we spearhead the design and development of novel products and experiences, aimed at attracting new customer segments within strategic verticals to the Thumbtack platform.
About the role
As a Partner Manager directly within our dedicated Partnerships team, you will serve as the primary strategic liaison for Thumbtack’s key technology and Demand partners. In this high-impact position, you will directly influence the Thumbtack marketplace's trajectory by developing and championing strategies that ensure our partners not only achieve their business objectives but consistently exceed them. Your leadership will be instrumental in elevating the quality and performance of partners on our platform, fostering exceptional customer experiences, and significantly contributing to the company's revenue growth.
What you'll do
- Cultivate and strategically manage a portfolio of Demand API partners, driving year-over-year net retention growth and fostering long-term partner success.
- Collaborate with Partnership leads to identify and capitalize on opportunities that accelerate product adoption, enhance net retention, and drive overall revenue growth.
- Drive impactful co-selling and co-marketing programs, including comprehensive training for partners and internal sales, to develop and execute win-win GTM strategies.
- Define and manage strategic partner relationships by establishing clear goals, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and actionable initiatives to ensure sustained mutual success
- Implement and drive adoption of best practices that empower partners to enhance conversion, performance, and overall effectiveness on the Thumbtack platform.
- Serve as a key technical liaison, providing expert API and integration guidance to both partners and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless product utilization.
- Play a pivotal cross-functional role in defining, improving, and executing our GTM strategy in close collaboration with sales, product, data science, engineering, and marketing.
In order to be successful, you must bring
- Proven Success in Client-Facing Roles: 2-4 years of experience in roles such as Customer Success, Account Management, Partnerships, Business Development, or strategic Consulting, with a clear record of accomplishment.
- Relationship & Solution Expertise: Demonstrated ability to cultivate strong, lasting partner relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions that drive mutual value and success.
- Performance-Driven Portfolio Management: A track record of successfully managing a portfolio of accounts, consistently meeting or exceeding quotas and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- CRM Proficiency: Essential proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms to manage partner interactions and data effectively.
- Tech Enthusiasm & Growth Mindset: A genuine passion for technology, coupled with a strong intellectual curiosity and a proactive drive to continuously learn, innovate, and contribute.
- Exceptional Prioritization & Time Management: Proven ability to effectively manage priorities, organize efforts, and optimize your time for maximum impact in a dynamic environment.
