About the Product Marketing Manager Team
Product Marketing’s goal is to make Thumbtack known, trusted, and loved by influencing the product roadmap, developing impactful positioning, and launching multi-channel campaigns. We shape our product to be market-leading and deeply aligned with the needs of both pros and customers.
About the Role
Thumbtack is reimagining how consumers complete their home projects from the moment they identify an issue to hiring the right pro, and AI is at the center of that transformation. As a Product Marketing Manager focused on the consumer hiring experience, you will play a pivotal role in bringing AI-powered products to market and driving adoption to move homeowners from uncertainty to confidence.
In this role, you’ll be a strategic thought partner to Product, Design, Research and Data Science, building clear problem framing, grounding product decisions in market insights, and developing differentiated positioning and messaging in the market. You’ll work to deeply understand our homeowner audience including how they think about home projects, their motivations, and where they get stuck. And you’ll help optimize our new customer experience, reducing friction so more customers feel ready to start a project. You'll also partner with our growth team to identify new product experiences that drive demand, repeat usage, and long-term consumer engagement.
What you'll do
- Become the expert on our homeowners, competitors and AI trends shaping the consumer hiring landscape to identify opportunities and areas of differentiation, using these insights to shape product strategy and define our right to win.
- Own the end-to-end GTM strategy for our consumer AI-powered hiring experiences from insight generation and market assessment, through positioning and messaging, launch strategy, and performance measurement.
- Drive product-market fit and adoption for these experiences, identifying the ideal customer and use cases, clearly articulating the value that these products deliver to homeowners.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Research to determine how we can reduce friction and drop off in the search experience to get more customers to start a project.
- Build consistent internal and external narratives on our hiring experience in close partnership with Brand, PR, Growth and Lifecycle Marketing.
- Partner with the growth team to identify product opportunities that generate new demand and increase repeat usage among existing customers.
In order to be successful, you must bring
- 4+ years of product marketing experience, with a strong foundation in consumer-facing products.
- Demonstrated ability to develop sharp, insight-driven positioning and messaging for products that are still finding product market fit.
- Experience working with Brand, Growth, Lifecycle and PR teams to align on a unified narrative.
- Strong 0-to-1 GTM expertise, with experience taking products from insight generation through launch strategy and performance measurement.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence and drive alignment with cross-functional partners.
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity in a fast-moving environment, bringing structure and a strong user-centric mindset to complex, evolving problems.
Expected salary ranges
- For candidates living in Ontario and British Columbia, the expected salary range for the role is currently $108,800.00 - $140,800.00.
Actual offered salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
