Location: Hybrid (US-based, strong preference for DC Metro Area). In-person expectations include periodic visits with customers and to Thunder offices in Tysons Corner.
Job Summary:
Thunder is the fastest-growing Salesforce consulting partner, backed by Salesforce Ventures, and known for delivering mission-focused innovation through Salesforce, Agentforce, and integrated AI solutions. We are expanding our federal practice and seeking a Client Executive to lead growth across National Security accounts — including Navy, Air Force, Combatant Commands, and select Intelligence Community organizations. This role is accountable for building long-term client relationships, capturing opportunities, and positioning Thunder as a trusted partner delivering Salesforce and AWS solutions in support of the mission.
Reporting to our Head of Federal, the Client Executive will be hands-on with capture and proposals, while also serving as the long-term relationship owner, coordinating with Thunder’s delivery teams, and representing the company within the broader National Security ecosystem.
Role + Responsibilities:
- Own pipeline and bookings targets for National Security accounts.
- Build trusted executive relationships with senior military leaders and civilian decision makers.
- Drive capture strategy, teaming, and proposal execution for major National Security opportunities.
- Lead or contribute directly to proposal writing, ensuring submissions are compliant, compelling, and aligned to mission needs.
- Collaborate with Salesforce Public Sector and AWS sellers to co-sell and co-deliver solutions.
- Work with Thunder’s pre-sales/demo team to shape mission-aligned solutions and accelerators.
- Partner with Thunder’s delivery teams to ensure program success and client satisfaction.
- Represent Thunder at National Security forums, industry events, and customer engagements.
- Capture customer feedback and mission priorities to inform Thunder’s federal offerings.
- Author points of view and white papers to advance Thunder’s thought leadership in the National Security community.
Qualifications:
- 8–10+ years in federal capture or business development with Navy, Air Force, Joint Commands, or Intelligence Community.
- Proven history of winning large, multi-year federal contracts.
- Established executive relationships across National Security organizations.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or SaaS/cloud platforms strongly preferred.
- Understanding of acquisition vehicles (IDIQs, BPAs, OTAs, CSOs).
- Security clearance (Secret or higher) preferred; ability to obtain required.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Salesforce certifications or advanced degree a plus.
U.S. citizens and those authorized to work in the US are encouraged to apply.
