ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented analyst to join our growing and evolving Perpetual KYX team that sits within our First Line of Defence. In this role, you would be assisting in our battle against financial crime - to prevent money laundering, terrorist financing and other illicit financial activities. This would be achieved through the continual review of the criminal offenses of members and accurate risk management.
The Member Screening Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization's adherence to compliance regulations and mitigating risks by conducting thorough screenings of new and existing members. This position involves the assessment of individuals and entities against various watchlists, sanctions lists, and databases to identify potential risks such as fraud, money laundering, and other illegal activities.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- Member Screening: Conduct a full review on the screening alert for new and existing members, including individuals and entities, against national and international sanction lists, watchlists, PEP (Politically Exposed Persons) lists and Adverse media.
- Risk Assessment: Analyze and review reported results to determine the level of risk for each member, providing recommendations for further investigation or approval.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare detailed reports and document any concerns or red flags,
- Investigations: Collaborate with the second line of defence, to investigate and resolve flagged screening results or to escalate it by providing detailed analysis.
- Process Improvement: Identify areas where the screening process can be improved, whether through automation, updated data sources, or improved reporting methods, and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- You are good in taking initiative and be naturally inquisitive about screening principles and processes
- You have 1+ year's work experience working in KYC/compliance
- You have a clear understanding of the UK/EU regulatory landscape
- You have strong understanding and experience of CDD and EDD processes
- You have similar work experience, preferably in the financial services
- You have previous experience working on Google sheets and Lexis Nexis
- You have an analytical mindset & able to digest large data sets and spot patterns and trends with ease
- You have exceptional English communication skills – written and verbal
- You have the ability to work well as part of a team; decisive; goal-oriented; proactive; able to adapt to different people and styles
- You must be comfortable with Hybrid working environments
