About the Role
As an Admissions Representative, you'll combine consultative sales, inside sales, customer service, and relationship-building to help prospective students take the first step toward a rewarding career in the skilled trades. This is a high-energy, performance-driven role where success comes from building trust, asking the right questions, and guiding students through the admissions and enrollment process.
Based at our Norfolk campus, you'll serve as the first point of contact for prospective students interested in career training in Automotive Technology, HVAC, and Welding. Through phone calls, email, text messaging, virtual appointments, and in-person meetings, you'll assess each student's goals, educate them on our programs, overcome objections, and confidently guide them from their initial inquiry through enrollment.
We're looking for someone who enjoys talking with people, thrives in a fast-paced inside sales environment, and is motivated by achieving measurable results. Whether your background is in admissions, enrollment, recruiting, business development, account management, retail sales, customer service, or consultative sales, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships while exceeding performance goals and helping students change their lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a high volume of prospective student inquiries through phone, email, and in-person or virtual meetings — responding with speed and professionalism
- Assess each prospective student’s goals, background, and eligibility to identify the right program fit
- Guide students through every stage of the admissions process: inquiry, appointment setting, interview, application, documentation, and enrollment
- Consistently meet and exceed enrollment KPIs, including outreach volume, contact-to-appointment conversion rates, application completion rates, and closing ratios
- Proactively follow up with prospective students to keep momentum and resolve barriers to enrollment
- Maintain accurate records of student application status and pipeline activity in the CRM
- Represent TTT at open houses, career fairs, and community recruitment events
What We’re Looking For
The strongest candidates for this role share a few things in common: they care deeply about the people they serve, they hold themselves accountable to their numbers, and they don’t need to be managed to stay motivated. Specifically, we’re looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about education and the difference a skilled trade career can make in a person’s life
- Brings consistent energy and a positive attitude — especially when the work gets challenging
- Takes initiative without waiting to be asked; identifies what needs to happen and follows through
- Has a strong track record in sales, admissions, or customer service with demonstrated results against performance metrics
- Communicates clearly and authentically with a wide range of people
- Stays organized, meets deadlines, and manages multiple priorities without dropping the ball
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate’s degree or higher preferred
Experience
- Proven experience in sales or customer service with a record of meeting or exceeding KPIs such as conversion rates, outreach goals, and closing ratios
- One or more years of admissions experience in a proprietary (for-profit) post-secondary educational setting preferred
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse audiences
- Excellent time management and the ability to multitask effectively in a high-volume environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; comfortable learning new CRM and enrollment management systems
