About the Role
As a Claims Adjuster, you’ll play a key role in delivering a seamless, empathetic, and fair experience to customers during what can often be a stressful time, filing a claim. You’ll serve as a trusted expert within the claims team, handling complex and high-impact claims while mentoring junior adjusters. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely, accurate, and customer-centered outcomes across multiple lines of business.
This role is ideal for an experienced adjuster who thrives in a dynamic, technology-driven environment and is passionate about operational excellence, customer trust, and continual improvement.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the full claims lifecycle for complex or escalated cases across multiple lines of business (auto, property, travel, etc.).
- Interpret and apply policy language to ensure accurate and equitable claim outcomes.
- Conduct inbound and outbound communications, including phone calls, texts, and emails, to provide updates, gather details, and support customers throughout their claim.
- Communicate professionally and empathetically by phone and in writing with external partners, carriers, and third-party claims teams to ensure coordinated, timely resolutions.
- Review and validate supporting documentation, such as estimates, invoices, and third-party reports.
- Identify and escalate potential fraud concerns, working with internal or partner teams as needed.
- Lead peer quality reviews and provide mentorship to junior claims representatives.
- Report claims trends and recommends process or product improvements.
- Champion Tint’s tone of empathy, fairness, and clarity in every customer interaction.
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
You’ll be measured on a balanced mix of operational efficiency, quality, and customer experience outcomes, including:
- Timeliness and adherence to service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Efficiency in the overall claims cycle time and workload management.
- Accuracy and completeness in coverage determinations, documentation and process execution/adherence.
- Customer satisfaction (CSAT) and Net Promoter Score (NPS), as aligned with Tint partner programs.
- Consistent and timely communication responsiveness across all communication channels.
- Compliance with regulatory, partner, and internal documentation standards.
- Contributions to process improvement and cross-team collaboration.
Qualifications
Required:
- 4+ years of hands-on insurance claims experience (auto, property, or travel preferred).
- Proven ability to manage complex or high-value claims independently.
- Active adjuster license (multi-state preferred).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across phone, text, and email.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret policy language and apply it accurately.
- Comfortable mentoring others and giving structured feedback.
- Skilled at balancing empathy with objectivity and compliance.
- Proficient with digital claims tools, CRM systems, and workflow automation.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in a startup, InsurTech, or embedded insurance environment.
- Active Property & Casualty (P&C) license and/or additional state licenses.
- Experience with Snapsheet, Vice, or other digital claims platforms.
- Experience with subrogation, arbitration, or litigation support.
- Fluency in Spanish, Russian, or another language.
- Familiarity with AI-enabled claims tools and data validation.

Schedule
This is an hourly role. While the hours we work at Tint are generally somewhat flexible, you’ll be interfacing with customers as well as external partners like insurance carriers and brand partners. This does require you to work the bulk of your hours during core business hours (M - F, 9a - 5p CT).
Location
This role is fully remote, however our ideal candidate is located in the US. Please note that at this time Tint is unable to support candidates who require employer visa sponsorship.

It is Tint’s intent to pay all employees competitive wages and salaries that are motivational, fair and equitable. The goal of Tint’s compensation program is to be transparent, attract potential employees, meet the needs of all current employees, and encourage employees to stay with our organization.
This role will receive a competitive hourly rate, benefits, and equity. The anticipated hourly rate for the Claims Adjuster role will be in the $25 - 40/hour range. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
