Senior BIM Specialist
The Role:
As a Senior BIM Specialist, you will lead the strategic planning and implementation of advanced BIM processes and technologies across all projects. You will collaborate with executive leadership, construction, and planning teams to ensure the seamless integration of BIM.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the strategic planning, development, and implementation of BIM processes and technologies.
- Manage and coordinate BIM activities across multiple large-scale projects.
- Establish and champion project/program-wide BIM standards, protocols, and quality assurance procedures.
- Conduct high-level BIM coordination meetings, clash detection, and model reviews.
- Review design documents, coordinate partner comment resolution, and develop work plans.
- Coordinate design schedules, analyze potential risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project milestones are achieved efficiently.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to integrate BIM strategies into business processes.
- Provide expert guidance and training to BIM team members and project stakeholders.
- Promote and implement OpenBIM standards and best practices throughout the organization.
- Conduct value engineering initiatives and oversee the development of baseline cost estimates.
- Integrate design and construction activities, including SI reviews and DCS preparation.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong team player with a growth mindset and a passion for what you do!
- Degree or diploma in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in BIM management and implementation.
- Expert knowledge of OpenBIM standards and software (e.g., IFC, BCF).
- Extensive experience with BIM tools such as Revit, Navisworks, and ACC.
- Strong understanding of ISO 19650
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven track record of successful BIM project delivery and team management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- High proficiency with MS Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, Power Platform and Project.
- Python and Javascript experience is an asset
- Government of Canada Secret (Level 2) clearance.
