
Senior Project Manager, Electrical Engineering
The Role:
As a Project Manager specializing in Electrical Engineering and M&E Design oversight, you will be responsible for overseeing the design development and coordination of electrical and mechanical systems for new spaces, infrastructure projects, and high-security environments. This role involves managing design processes, ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory requirements, and collaborating with engineering consultants, architects, contractors, and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective M&E solutions.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage the design process for electrical and mechanical (M&E) systems, ensuring alignment with project objectives, operational needs, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants to develop and refine electrical and M&E system designs, balancing performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary design reviews, ensuring seamless integration of electrical systems with mechanical, structural, and architectural components.
- Facilitate value engineering initiatives, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining performance, reliability, and sustainability.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, security teams, and construction teams, to align design requirements with operational and security needs.
- Oversee the preparation of design schedules, ensuring timely completion of key milestones, approvals, and design package submissions.
- Act as the primary liaison between design consultants and construction teams, ensuring smooth handover from design to implementation and addressing design-related issues that arise during construction.
- Monitor and manage design risks, proactively addressing challenges related to feasibility, constructability, and evolving project requirements.
- Provide ongoing technical guidance and decision-making support to project stakeholders throughout the design process.
What You’ll Bring:

- Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering (P. Eng or CET an asset)
- 10 years+ experience as a Project Manager supporting construction, design or engineering projects.
- Extensive experience as a Senior Project Manager with a focus on electrical projects, preferably within large-scale construction or government environments.
- Strong knowledge of project management and procurement best practices and a track record of successful delivery.
- Proven track record in value engineering, budget management, and project delivery.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent listening and critical thinking skills, sound judgement.
- Exemplary organizational and strategic thinking skills with the ability to effectively influence others and successfully resolve a variety of client, project, and technical issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- High degree of proficiency with MS Office suite, specifically Excel, Word and Project.
- Existing Government of Canada Secret security clearance.
