Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Congress Planning and Management is responsible for managing and executing commercial congress strategy in support of the company's portfolio and commercial objectives for Tonix Medicines, Inc. This role leads the planning, execution, and optimization of national and regional congresses activities that enhance product awareness, strengthen customer relationships, and support commercial growth.

As a member of the Commercial Strategy team, this role will work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Corporate Communications, and external partners. This individual will drive congress strategy from concept through execution while ensuring exceptional customer engagement and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, highly organized professional who thrives in a fast-paced biotechnology environment and enjoys balancing long-term planning with hands-on execution. This role will play a key part in supporting commercial launches and building Tonix's presence across industry meetings.

Essential Functions:

Congress Planning & Execution

  • Identify and maintain a comprehensive congress list of National, Regional, and Local congress
  • Inform Commercial Strategy annual planning recommendation for national, regional, and local congress opportunities that maximize customer engagement and return on investment.
  • Execute the annual commercial congress plan with cross functional team in alignment with brand strategic imperatives and brand priorities
  • Ensure collaboration with Commercial Leadership, Brand Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Training, Corporate Communications, and other key stakeholders for congress plan implementation
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging engagement strategies to continuously improve commercial execution.
  • Maintain all aspects of congress planning and execution, including contracting, sponsorships, product theaters operations, and executive encounter support
  • Oversee logistics including registration, housing, travel, meeting space, shipping, and vendor management.
  • Serve as the commercial lead during congresses, ensuring flawless execution and issue resolution.
  • Develop and maintain a congress playbook and repository to ensure operational excellence, scalability, and reproducibility

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Medical Affairs, Compliance, Legal, Corporate Communications, and Training to ensure congress activities support commercial objectives.
  • Coordinate booth staffing, customer meetings, executive schedules, and internal communications.
  • Ensure all promotional materials and congress activities comply with company policies and applicable regulations.

Budget

  • Develop and manage congress budgets and support annual planning
  • Track timelines, budgets, and project deliverables across multiple congresses.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while maintaining a high-quality customer experience.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Develop KPIs to evaluate congress effectiveness.
  • Lead post-congress debriefs and summarize customer insights, competitive intelligence, and engagement metrics.
  • Provide recommendations to improve future congress strategy and return on investment.
  • Develop and maintain best practices and standardized processes for commercial congress planning.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This role does not include direct people management but may provide day‑to‑day guidance, project leadership, or functional oversight to team members and cross‑functional partners.

Necessary Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to travel approximately 30–40%, including weekends
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical commercial operations and customer engagement strategies.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Highly skilled at vendor management and contract negotiation.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Life Sciences, or a related field
  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), PMP, or similar certification highly preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience supporting commercial congresses, meetings, events, or customer engagement.
  • Experience supporting commercial product launches preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading national and international congress planning and execution.
  • Experience managing exhibit booths, sponsorships, promotional activities, customer events, and agency relationships.
  • Experience in specialty pharmaceuticals or biotechnology preferred.
  • Experience supporting commercial launches, marketing, and corporate communications highly preferred.
  • Experience with CRM, project management, and event management platforms highly preferred.
  • Experience measuring congress effectiveness using customer engagement and commercial metrics highly preferred.

Salary Range

$114,000 - $152,000 USD
