What the role is about
As Head of Key Accounts (f/m/d), you will contribute to Too Good To Go’s growth by defining and driving the national Key Account strategy for Germany. You’ll directly lead and grow a large Key Account team (~40 people), via their Team Leads - these teams manage both acquisition and the development (Growth) of existing partnerships across all of our Key Account Segments such as supermarkets, bakeries, hotel chains, on-the-go, and more.
You’ll be part of the management team and report directly to the Country Director. You’ll be responsible for setting the strategy, prioritising efforts, building and sustaining a high-performing team, driving cross-functional collaboration, and achieving our joint goals for Key Accounts. Additionally, you’ll be personally involved in acquiring and developing our most important key partners.
Team Leadership
- Lead the Key Account team with the goal of involving all major partners in Germany in our mission to fight food waste
- Build and develop a productive, efficient, and independent Key Account team: using your deep knowledge of sales and negotiation techniques, you’ll continuously coach and support your team so that each member can reach their full potential and deliver top results
- Play an active role in the overall development of the business and be a key leader beyond just Key Accounts - Leading by examples and making necessary business-decisions in order to keep us moving forward.
- Manage a team of ~40 people, including 3 direct reports across three verticals.
Strategy, Partner Relationships & Performance
- Build and grow partnerships with the largest national food retailers
- Structure and coordinate the rollout of new key accounts and drive Germany’s key account acquisition strategy
- Conduct benchmarking and market analysis to identify key account strategies
- Launch new initiatives to expand our Key Account business—focus especially on finding new ways to rescue more food with our partners and scale global key account chains
- Strategically develop existing accounts
- Own the revenue, budget, and operating results for the Key Account department
Who we’re looking for
- You bring extensive Key Account experience and ideally have a strong background in a global context—you’ll use this to lead your team by example
- You are an experienced, motivating leader with a deep understanding of both scale-up dynamics, affinity in coaching and managing a Key Account team that navigates through shifting priorities and complex partners negotiations.
- You know how to thrive in a matrix organization with direct and dotted-line reporting, and you’re excellent at managing both internal and external stakeholders
- You have a proven track record of acquiring major key accounts, especially in grocery retail (LEH), but also bakeries, petrol stations, and more
- Being data driven is a natural strength of yours, you work with KPIs to track results, manage your team and refine Key Account strategy. Proven experience with common sales tools (ideally Salesforce) is a bonus!
- You’re a bold, big-picture thinker with a passion for clear communication. You don’t just spot opportunities — you chase them down and thrive on turning ideas into impactful action.
- Your team would describe you as strategic, results-oriented, hands-on, and resilient
- You have strong negotiation skills at C-level
- You’re fluent in both German and English
