We are looking for a strategic Financial Analyst to provide world-class finance support to high-growth venture-backed companies. You'll be a hands-on partner to CEOs and leadership team members at dynamic software and services companies.

About this role: This role will support Topo’s founder and other finance team members in delivering high quality support to Topo’s customers. In this role, we’re looking for a high agency person with a strong understanding of the financial statements and an interest in startups. This role will become increasingly strategic as the individual grows within Topo. 

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist Topo finance leads in developing and reporting on strategic client initiatives and supporting clients in finding and scaling product-market fit
  • Work Topo finance leads and client CEOs to determine key metrics and levers to influence change
  • Update portfolio company financial models and budgets
  • Prepare regular reporting including budget vs. actual, investor reporting, and board meeting materials
  • Manage third-party vendors of clients including insurance, payroll, and taxes
  • Oversee accounting functions including accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Manage monthly close process, analysis and reporting
  • Analyze & monitor cash flow and expense management

What We’re Looking For:

  • You’re organized and demonstrate a high attention to detail and accuracy
  • You have a strong understanding of GAAP financials
  • You have an interest in startups and are excited to influence business strategy
  • You have a bias for action and like to take ownership of new projects
  • You are a voracious learner and can translate new learnings into action
  • You love working with numbers and helping people
  • 1+ years working in public accounting or in finance in an entrepreneurial environment or a motivated recent college graduate with internship experience
  • Excellent quantitative skills with strong experience in Excel and familiarity with Quickbooks
  • Ability to embrace ambiguity, uncertainty, and changing business landscapes

  • This is a hybrid position based out of our Indianapolis, IN, office located at Bottleworks. We are seeking candidates local to the Indianapolis metro area and willing to commute to that office regularly.  The company will not provide relocation assistance.
