What is this role like?

We are looking for a sharp, high-growth Finance & Accounting Associate to help anchor and scale our operations across Latin America. This role is designed for a qualified Accountant (CPA or local equivalent) who understands the "why" behind the numbers. You will bridge the gap between rigorous local compliance and high-level corporate strategy.

You will be the architect of our financial integrity in LATAM, moving beyond "keeping the books" to mastering the complexity of multi-country statutory requirements and tax landscapes. We need someone who can speak the language of local auditors while driving the speed of a global tech scale-up.

Technical Accounting & Compliance

• Local Statutory Ownership: Own the end-to-end accounting lifecycle for LATAM subsidiaries (Chile, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, and Mexico), ensuring all activities meet local GAAP/IFRS and US GAAP standards.

• CPA-Level Oversight: Manage monthly and quarterly close cycles with "audit-ready" precision. You will be responsible for the accuracy of the trial balance, journal entries, and reconciliation of intercompany accounts.

• Tax & Regulatory Strategy: Partner with local tax advisors to ensure impeccable compliance with VAT/IVA, withholding taxes, and municipal filings across diverse jurisdictions.

• Audit Leadership: Act as the primary point of contact for external audits, maintaining robust internal controls and documentation that meet international financial integrity standards.

Strategic Operations & Treasury

• Cross-Border Fiscal Engineering: Navigate the complexities of multi-currency fund flows and "centavo-perfect" invoicing across Latin American borders.

• ERP Mastery (NetSuite): Serve as the power user for NetSuite, transitioning our accounting from outsourced firms to a sophisticated, internalized regional engine.

• Treasury & FX Management: Monitor multi-currency cash positions to mitigate FX risk and ensure liquidity across all regional bank accounts.

High-Growth Partnership

• Payroll & Labor Compliance: Collaborate with People Ops to ensure local labor laws, social security contributions, and regional payroll runs are executed without error.

• Scalable Infrastructure: Design the financial workflows that allow our Sales and Product teams to move at 100 mph without hitting regulatory roadblocks.

What (we think) you need to be successful

We’re open to not checking all the boxes and being proven wrong by outlier candidates!

• Experience: 3+ years in Strategic Finance, Corporate Accounting, or Financial Operations. Experience in high growth startups or "Big 4" firms is a significant plus.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional certifications (CPA, CFA, or similar) are valued.

• Regional Expertise: Solid understanding of accounting frameworks and tax compliance across multiple LATAM jurisdictions (specifically Brazil, Mexico, Chile, and Colombia). You should understand how to navigate cross-border financial complexities.

• Systems Thinker: Robust experience with NetSuite (Oracle) or similar Tier 1 ERPs. You don’t just "use" the system; you understand how to optimize it for better reporting and automation.

• Analytical Mindset: Proficiency in financial modeling and a strong grasp of GAAP/IFRS. You should be able to translate raw data into strategic insights (e.g., burn rate analysis, FX impact, etc.).

• Strategic Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage external partners (banks, tax firms) and communicate financial complexities clearly to non-finance stakeholders.

• Startup DNA: A "100 mph" mindset. You are comfortable with ambiguity, take radical ownership, and prefer building scalable structures over following a manual.

• Languages: Fluency in Spanish and English is required (you will collaborate with a global team). Portuguese is a strong advantage for our Brazilian operations

• Deep dive into details: Professionals who are not content with superficial answers and dive deeply into the details to uncover root causes and optimal solutions.
