About The Role

We’re looking for a motivated Finance Associate to join the dynamic team in our Somerville office, you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing financial processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial workflows, support strategic decision-making, and maintain the highest standards of financial integrity.

You will:

  • Analyze financial data and support reporting, forecasting, and operational finance projects
  • Manage and support client invoicing and billing workflows
  • Review and reconcile financial transactions across banking, accounting, payroll, and expense systems
  • Support accounts receivable and accounts payable operations
  • Help ensure billing accuracy and investigate discrepancies or missing records
  • Organize and maintain clean financial documentation and operational records
  • Assist with monthly close processes and reporting preparation
  • Categorize expenses and maintain structured financial data across departments
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve finance and billing-related questions
  • Help improve financial processes, reporting consistency, and operational workflows as the company scales

What (we think) you need to be successful - we’re open to not checking all the boxes and be proven wrong by outlier candidates as well! 

  • 1 – 3 years experience as a staff accountant or similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in accounting or finance preferred
  • Strong knowledge of corporate finance and other accounting theory and three statement financial modeling
  • Knowledge of research techniques to analyze data and make recommendations
  • Ability to describe accounting systems and processes in written and verbal correspondence
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with international tax processes
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office; accounting software including NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero, Expensify and Bill.com
  • Ability to navigate a dynamic startup environment, adapt to evolving priorities, and take ownership in building structure and establishing foundational accounting processes
  • Spanish or Portuguese is a plus
  • Work onsite at our Somerville Office 4 days a week
