Junior Risk Manager
Summary
The Junior Risk Manager (JRM) provides customer support for live funded traders while managing internal processes to sustain daily funding operations. This role requires industry expertise, enabling the JRM to deliver exceptional service while handling a variety of tasks with precision and care. The ideal candidate is skilled at diffusing high-tension situations, resourceful, and capable of making sound decisions under pressure. Strong attention to detail, knowledge of futures or derivatives, self-motivation, and comfort in customer-facing interactions are essential qualities for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all live Funded Account activity and risk exposure
- Exercise sound discretion when adjusting risk parameters
- Maintain good working relationships with our brokerage and clearing partners
- Enforce and educate traders on Topstep’s trading rules
- Maintain healthy account balances in brokerage accounts
- Act as a main point of contact between Topstep and its live-funded traders
- Manage daily funded operations tasks
- Work with fellow coaches on our educational branch of the business
- Coordinate abbreviated holiday trading hours
- Compile data to drive business decisions
- Work directly with the Risk Manager to assess current market conditions and influence risk-minded program changes
Required Qualifications and Key Competencies
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a related or equivalent field.
- Experience working with professional financial institutions & Trading Platforms is a must.
- Familiarity with Tradovate
- Familiarity with Rithmic
- Familiarity with T4
- 3+ years of professional experience in the trading industry
- Advanced knowledge of Futures Markets
- Strong sense of accountability, integrity, and ethics
Preferred Skills
- Intermediate to advanced Excel or Google Sheets
- Knowledge of Topstep

New Hire Base Salary Range:
- $65,000-$70,000
- Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
- The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
