Summary 

Topstep is seeking a driven and skilled Technical Recruiter to help accelerate our growth by identifying and hiring top-tier talent in engineering, product, and other technical functions. In this role, you’ll be a key member of our Talent Acquisition team—responsible for managing the full recruiting lifecycle and partnering closely with hiring managers to fill high-impact roles across the organization. Your focus will be sourcing exceptional candidates for technical positions, optimizing our recruiting processes, and providing an outstanding candidate experience that reflects Topstep’s values and mission. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about connecting top talent with meaningful work, and is confident working on high-priority technical searches that directly support our growth.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Manage the full recruitment lifecycle for technical roles—from role intake and sourcing to offer acceptance and handoff to onboarding
  • Source and engage top technical talent using a variety of tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Stack Overflow, etc.) and creative outreach strategies
  • Partner closely with Key Stakeholders to define role requirements, build job descriptions and scorecards, and align on candidate profile
  • Screen, interview, and assess candidates for both technical skills and cultural alignment
  • Maintain detailed and organized data within our ATS (Greenhouse) and provide timely updates to hiring stakeholders
  • Guide candidates through a smooth and engaging process, keeping communication clear and timely from first outreach through to close
  • Track and report recruiting metrics and market insights to help inform hiring strategy
  • Collaborate on employer branding efforts, including crafting messaging and maintaining a strong online presence in the technical community
  • Stay informed on technical recruiting trends, compensation benchmarks, and competitor activity

Required Qualifications and Key Competencies

  • 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a strong emphasis on technical roles (Engineering, Product, IT, DevOps, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success sourcing and closing passive technical talent
  • Strong understanding of technical roles and how to evaluate relevant skills and experience
  • Experience supporting multiple departments or hiring teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Familiarity with Greenhouse or similar ATS
  • Excellent communication and follow-up skills—able to build strong candidate relationships and keep hiring managers aligned
  • Consultative mindset and strong stewardship of the recruitment process with strong influence skills
  • Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented with strong time management skills
  • A collaborative, can-do attitude with a focus on progress, not perfection
  • Resourceful—able to find creative solutions to sourcing challenges and navigate ambiguity with confidence

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field
  • Experience working with technical functions (Engineering/Product/Design) is highly preferred
  • Experience hiring for technical functions in finance, fintech, trading, or technology industries
  • Greenhouse ATS 
  • Proficiency with sourcing and productivity tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Monday.com, and other platforms
  • Strong grasp of technical language and familiarity with software development lifecycles
  • Exposure to market and talent intelligence tools to guide strategy and decision-making

New Hire Base Salary Range

  • $70,000-$80,000 
  • Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
  • The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
