Summary 

The Director, Brand Social & Content will own Topstep’s organic social strategy, blog publishing, and social community growth. This role is responsible for creating platform-native storytelling that resonates with our audience, increases brand awareness, and builds an engaged community of traders and finance enthusiasts.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Brand & Communications, this leader will develop content strategies that integrate seamlessly with brand campaigns, product launches, and partnerships. They will also spearhead community engagement efforts across Discord, X, Reddit, LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and other key platforms, building meaningful connections between Topstep and its audience.

Key Responsibilities 

Social Media Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and execute an integrated organic social strategy across Discord, X, Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms.
  • Lead platform-native storytelling that blends education, entertainment, and brand voice to connect with retail Traders and finance enthusiasts.
  • Partner with Creative, Brand, Product, Media, and GTM teams to develop high-impact content for campaigns, product launches, and brand moments.
  • Establish a clear social content calendar, ensuring alignment with marketing priorities and seasonal trends.
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of social media experts responsible for strategizing, designing, and executing best-in-class content and engagement strategies across all of Topstep’s products, brands, and emerging ventures - driving innovation, consistency, and measurable impact.

Content Development & Blog Ownership

  • Own the Topstep blog content strategy and publishing cadence, ensuring content is compelling, valuable, SEO-informed, and aligned with brand voice.
  • Write or commission blog posts that educate traders, highlight success stories, and reinforce Topstep’s authority in the trading and other emerging ventures space.
  • Collaborate with Growth and Lifecycle teams to integrate blog content into acquisition and retention efforts.

Community Building & Engagement

  • Partner with the Trader Success teams to: 
    • Develop and maintain our brand voice and tone across community engagement strategically on Discord, Reddit, Facebook Community pages, and other relevant forums. 
    • Foster peer-to-peer interaction, mentorship, and advocacy within the trading community.
    • Identify and empower community advocates and ambassadors to extend reach and credibility.
    • Monitor community sentiment and share insights with cross-functional teams to inform marketing and product strategy.

Required Qualifications and Key Competencies

  • 8+ years of experience in social media, content strategy, and community building, ideally within a B2C, fintech, or high-growth brand.
  • Proven success creating and scaling organic social strategies that drive engagement and brand affinity.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with experience producing both short-form and long-form content.
  • Deep understanding of platform algorithms, trends, and best practices for Discord, X, Reddit, LinkedIn, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and emerging channels.
  • Experience building and nurturing online communities, with an emphasis on engagement and retention.
  • Ability to interpret analytics and translate data into actionable improvements.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with brand, creative, product, partnerships, and growth teams.

New Hire Base Salary Range

  • $170,000-$230,000
  • Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
  • The compensation offered will take into account internal compensation structure and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
