TopstepTV (topstep.tv) is entering a defining chapter: evolving from a niche trading channel into a category-defining media brand. Our vision is to become the daily destination where trading, finance, business, macroeconomics, and culture moments converge - with production quality and credibility on par with CNBC, ESPN, and MLB Network, but built for a digital-first era.

The Senior Director, Executive Producer & Studio Showrunner will be the architect and driving force of this transformation. Equal parts digital media strategist and broadcast showrunner, this leader will first rebuild and relaunch our YouTube channel and social programming, developing daily shows, new formats, and scalable content franchises before leading the expansion into a state-of-the-art Chicago production studio.

This role demands a visionary storyteller, builder, and operator with the credibility, creativity, and discipline to build an engaging, profitable, multi-platform media business. The mandate: create must-watch daily content, grow a global audience, establish a path to monetization, and elevate TopstepTV into one of the most influential voices in finance, business, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities 

Vision & Strategy

  • Define and execute the editorial and programming strategy for TopstepTV across YouTube, social, podcast, and studio broadcast.
  • Build and evolve a roadmap that scales from YouTube-first programming to a profitable, multi-revenue media business (ads, sponsorships, licensing, subscriptions, live events).
  • Expand TopstepTV’s relevance from a core trading audience to broader finance/business to world/politics/macro to lifestyle and entertainment.

Content & Creative Leadership

  • Lead the development of daily flagship shows and recurring formats with the pace, polish, and narrative energy of a world-class network.
  • Translate complex financial markets into engaging, accessible, and entertaining storytelling.
  • Drive innovation in live programming, integrating community-driven interactivity, cultural moments, and digital-first storytelling.
  • Ensure brand, compliance, and editorial standards are uncompromisingly upheld.

Talent Leadership

  • Recruit, negotiate, and develop top-tier on-air talent including co-anchors, analysts, commentators, and contributors who can both inform and captivate.
  • Establish a co-lead anchor model to drive consistency and daily credibility.
  • Coach on-air personalities for impact, delivery, and resonance across both broadcast and digital-first formats.
  • Position Topstep talent as influential voices that extend beyond TV into podcasts, events, and cultural conversations.

Production & Operations

  • Oversee all facets of production: live control room operations, set design, lighting, sound, graphics, and emerging production technologies.
  • Lead the transition from digital-first shows to a fully realized studio operation, ensuring seamless scalability.
  • Develop efficient workflows for daily, weekly, and long-form programming while maintaining broadcast-level quality.
  • Partner with Creative, Marketing, Product, and Partnerships teams to maximize audience distribution, monetization opportunities, Brand and Product integrations. 

Growth & Monetization

  • Own TopstepTV’s audience and revenue growth mandate: viewership, subscribers, engagement, sponsorships, and attributable trader acquisition.
  • Build a multi-stream monetization model: sponsorships, ads, subscriptions, licensing, and live events.
  • Align programming strategy with company OKRs, ensuring TopstepTV not only drives profitability but also accelerates Topstep’s core business growth.

Required Qualifications and Key Competencies

  • 15+ years of senior leadership in broadcast and/or digital media (Executive Producer, Showrunner, Studio Head, or equivalent).
  • Proven track record launching, scaling, and monetizing daily programming at the level of major sports, finance, or entertainment networks.
  • Equal fluency in YouTube-native growth mechanics and traditional broadcast studio operations.
  • Deep experience recruiting, managing, and coaching on-air talent; strong network of industry connections.
  • Expert-level understanding of live control room workflows, multi-camera production, graphics packages, and digital distribution ecosystems.
  • Strategic operator who has delivered profitable media P&Ls, sponsorship revenue, and audience expansion at scale.
  • Passion for financial markets, trading culture, and the opportunity to blend credibility with entertainment-driven storytelling.

New Hire Base Salary Range

  • $240,000-$280,000
  • Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.
  • The compensation offered will take into account the internal compensation structure and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
