Meet the Team
The UX team at Torc Robotics focuses on creating and designing the user’s experience based on the product vision for autonomous vehicle systems. They conduct in-depth user research, usability testing, and data analysis to ensure that driver and operator interactions with the technology are safe, seamless, and effective. By combining human factors insights with innovative design, the team plays a key role in shaping the user experience.
What you'll do:
- Expected to drive UX strategy and shape product vision aligned with business goals. Partners with leadership, Product, and Engineering to champion user-centered design. Provides mentorship and thought leadership across teams. Leads research initiatives and plans, workshops, design sprints, and collaborative sessions to validate solutions. Advocates for accessibility and inclusivity, and represents UX in client meetings, conferences, and industry events.
- Lead the UX process: Collaborate strategically with product managers and engineers to guide the entire UX process from gathering and evaluating user requirements, leveraging user research, user interface specifications and behavior of the autonomous system.
- Conduct User Research: Plan and conduct user research activities, employing a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to gain deep insights into user behaviors, preferences, and needs.
- Drive UX Strategy: Drive strategic UX initiatives that align with organizational goals and objectives, collaborating closely with senior leadership, product management, and engineering teams to ensure alignment and impact to the product.
- Leverage Technical Capabilities: Consider technical limitations and feasibility, apply design thinking to solve complex business problems and address user pain points, collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop holistic solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Collaborate effectively with product, engineering, marketing, operational teams and UX, to integrate user experience considerations to ensure operational excellence and drive successful outcomes.
- Drive innovative solutions: Conceptualize and design innovative and intuitive user solutions, leveraging design methodologies, emerging technologies, and industry best practices based on requirements focused on advancing the product.
What you'll need to succeed:
- 5+ years of professional experience in UX/UI, interaction design, or a related discipline — or an advanced degree (3+ years experience and a Master’s or 1+ years of experience and a PhD) in a relevant field such as Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Interaction Design, Information Design, Human-Robot Interaction, Industrial Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered design research/solutions, strategic thinking, and a history of collaboration with product and engineering teams
- Proficiency in leading and conducting user research (qualitative and quantitative), usability testing, and data analysis to inform design decisions.
- Demonstrated experience driving UX vision and product strategy aligned with business goals
- Extensive experience in design thinking, agile development environments, and cross-functional team collaboration
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, or similar
- Deep understanding of accessibility, inclusive design, and UX best practices
- Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills, with experience mentoring junior designers and influencing stakeholders
- Willingness to travel occasionally to represent the UX team at client meetings, conferences, and industry events

US Pay Range
$145,900 - $175,100 USD
