
Learning and Development Specialist
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Learning & Development Specialist III supports and continuously improves the employee experience at Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions through the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning, engagement, onboarding, and culture-building initiatives. This role serves as an individual contributor and subject-matter expert in learning design, facilitation, and employee engagement strategies, partnering closely with HR, internal communications, and business leaders. The role owns learning content within the company’s knowledge and learning platforms and supports workforce development processes including but not limited to onboarding, engagement surveys, performance management, leadership development, succession planning, and individual development planning.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and facilitate learning, onboarding, and engagement programs aligned to a performance-based culture.
- Partner with HR and business leaders to identify learning and engagement needs and recommend solutions. Collaborate with subject matter experts to create learning content and manage the learning platform.
- Support cross-functional HR initiatives including performance management and development planning.
- Maintain learning calendars, track participation, and prepare reports and insights.
- Partner with internal communications to align learning and engagement messaging.
- Collaborate with technical teams to improve learning systems and user experience.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Education, or related field
- Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable
- Minimum 4+ years HR experience, including 3+ years in Learning & Development or Employee Engagement
AREAS OF EXPERTISE & SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Instructional design and facilitation in a corporate setting (virtual, in-person, blended)
- Employee engagement strategies (surveys, focus groups, action planning)
- Learning management systems (SABA, Cornerstone, and SAI360 preferred)
- Onboarding design and/or facilitation
- Learning and engagement metrics, reporting, and analysis
- Virtual training platforms (Teams preferred)
- Instructional authoring tools (Articulate Storyline 360 preferred)
- Demonstrated experience designing and developing learner-centric experiences and programs that incorporate sound instructional design methodologies and UX design with practical application, especially for highly complex and high-profile projects and program ownership
- Demonstrated ability to work with senior leaders, subject matter experts, and peers to drive learner engagement, create relevant learning experiences, and align training programs to corporate goals
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects with specific deadlines in an atmosphere of ongoing change and continuous improvement
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication (written and verbal), organization, confidentiality, and cross-functional collaboration
- Growth mindset and passion for continuous improvement
