Sr. Accounting, Tax and Compliance

This position leads to the preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow and according to Local GAAP, ensures necessary journals are prepared within strict timelines.  Follows up with key stakeholders to ensure balance sheet reconciling items and related subledger source system variances are resolved.  Works diligently to ensure all deliverables are compliance on time and manner with the appropriate accounting and tax treatment.  This position assures accounting and tax accuracy and compliance with Local GAAP and local regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial statement preparation and tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting to local management and headquarters.
  • Leads general accounting activities in one or more accounting systems.
  • Execute and help lead month-end close.
  • Evaluate monthly financial statements and create additional supplemental reports.
  • Comply with Local governmental rules and regulations
  • Record company transactions on the local system. As well as developing and controlling the electronic accounting (trial balances).   Support with Transfer price transactions.
  • Support in preparing, participating, reconciling and controlling physical inventory process (materials and fixed assets) and the cost of sales.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in general accounting with 4 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Solid experience in the preparation, analysis and review of financial statements, including Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow and disclosures, ensuring compliance with local GAAP.
  • Experience and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, especially those related to taxes and inventories and cost of sales.
  • Experience in multinational companies, managing strict monthly and annual close processes and reporting to headquarters (HQ)
  • Proven experience in tax compliance and reporting, including the preparation and review of direct and indirect taxes, ensuring timely and accurate submission of Monthly and annual tax returns, Informative declarations, dictamenes fiscalesAdherence to local statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Hands-on experience in electronic accounting reports.
  • Experience supporting internal and external audits.
  • General accounting and tax knowledge of payroll, social security, REPSE, transfer price and international trade compliance requirements.
  • Experience in the use of ERP´s -Oracle
  • Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel for hands-on data analyst. 
  • English: intermediate – advance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to support operational decision-making in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of prioritizing multiple deliverables and anticipating deadlines for HQ and local reporting.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management, with the ability to present information clearly and interact across teams and management levels.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently while maintaining high quality standards in compliance-driven processes.
  • Strong teamwork and leadership mindset, contributing to collaboration and supporting the technical development of other analysts.
  • Experience in an accounting / tax firms desired.
