 A Billing Specialist at TouchCare is a dedicated service professional who understands how health insurance plans work and who wants to help educate our members.
● If you have previous experience in a healthcare office, this role may be a good fit for applying your current claims knowledge to truly help members.
● A successful candidate will work on the members’ behalf to understand claims adjudication guidelines and resolve medical, dental and vision billing issues for our members.
● Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines and exceptional attention to detail are essential to this position.
● It’s a rewarding position that encompasses investigation and communication skills.
● Essential Job Functions: Handle some escalated and complex cases in a timely manner to identify opportunities to resolve the issue by working with plan documents, carriers, providers, and members.
● Research plan information and identify where there may be conflicting information
● Research billing issues to determine the possible cause of the error, and assisting with claims resubmission when needed to correct the issue.
● Serve as a resource of help to other claims specialists who need assistance and have questions on their cases
● Working with these resources to analyze and resolve billing issues:
○ Plan documents and plan benefits
○ Interpretation of benefits
○ Medical, dental, vision, behavioral health billing and claims adjudication
○ FSA, HRA and HSA plans


Minimum Requirements:
● Bachelor’s degree and/or 3-5 years claims experience
● Previous medical office experience a plus
● Strong research and analytical skills
● Ability to work independently and escalate for assistance as needed
● Strong communication and ability to work with various internal and external parties to resolve member issues
● Excellent organizational, time management, and customer service skills
● Ability to proactively identify payer and provider trends, and to communicate this to management
● Excellent listening skills and ability to empathize with members
● Excellent computer skills and experience in Microsoft Office Suite

● You are a service-focused, highly personable individual who loves dealing with people, solving their problems, and providing them with a great customer experience
● You have a bachelor’s degree and/or 2-3 years claims management experience
● Ability to proactively identify payer and provider trends, and to communicate any recognizable trends to management
● Excellent listening skills and ability to empathize with members
● Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written) is a must with the ability to effectively collaborate with other Health Assistants, members, clients, and all levels of management
● You are relentlessly inquisitive, love researching and finding new answers
● You have strong analytical skills and understand advocacy vs simply answering a question
● You act professionally, especially when assisting others who are experiencing challenges
● Multitasking and working quickly and efficiently is something you do well
● Must be able to work independently and as a part of a team with the ability to react to a rapidly growing consumer base
● You are passionate about making a difference in people’s lives
● You have a positive outlook on life and you are willing to go above and beyond to offer assistance to others. Helping others is important to you.

Compensation: The salary range for this role is $60,000-$80,000, based on experience, skills, qualifications, and alignment with the scope of the role.

Location & Work Environment: This role is based at our Shrewsbury, NJ headquarters and is expected to be onsite 5 days per week
