Financial Controller *Maternity Cover*

Summary

This Finance Leadership position provides Accounting and Financial Reporting, and serves as a financial advisor for the business unit supporting the Managing Director and business teams for the business unit. 

The Controller will lead the financial transformation across the business unit leveraging the use of Sage and our In-house built ERP system and other digital tools that will drive growth, productivity and compliance in accordance with GAAP, statutory accounting standards and Trexon policies of the business units.  This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer with a dotted line to the MD of the business unit.

Maternity cover role for 12 months with expected start date in May/June.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic financial leadership and support the business unit and its leadership team covering orders management, sales, revenue growth management, cost of sales, operations, SG&A and working capital management.
  • Develop and report on analytics to influence effective decision making and achieve revenue, gross margin, EBITDA and working capital targets. This includes but not limited to pricing, products costs, operational cost productivity and expense management, right-sizing cost levels while driving improvement in the cash conversion cycle.
  • Present and participate in operations/business reviews and other special projects or steering committees to ensure achievement of financial plans and strategic goals.
  • Provide financial support and analytical guidance in identifying and solving problems within all functional areas of the business.
  • Preparation of monthly management Accounts
  • Own the business unit level general ledger month-end close, financial reporting, balance sheet account reconciliations while working with the Trexon Corporate Controller, FP&A and other teams regarding accounting/financial requirements for the division while ensuring compliance to GAAP or statutory accounting standards and Trexon policies and timely reporting.
  • Oversee weekly cash forecasting activities.
  • Build annual operating budget for business unit to achieve company strategic and financial goals.
  • Prepare applicable tax returns, ensure compliance with tax requirements
  • Liaise with HMRC, bank and company auditors.
  • Lead and prepare for external financial audits.
  • Assist with Company Secretary duties.
  • Perform business insurance declaration and monitoring.
  • Manage financial process for key strategic capital-intensive projects.
  • Develop and manage a high-performance team and culture in a fast-moving environment to achieve strategic goals.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities as needed in accordance with the organisation's principles, policies and applicable laws ensuring accurate and appropriate focus on customer receipts, supplier payments and ledgers, credit control, cash management, payroll, pensions, inventory management and control.
  • Provide insights for improvement opportunities and synergies.
  • Perform other job-related duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

Education:     Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field is required

                       CPA, CMMA/ACCA, or MBA preferred

Experience:   8-10 + years of related experience with 5+ of those in a supervisory role

                        Manufacturing and inventory accounting experience strongly preferred

Knowledge:   Working knowledge of payroll processing, taxes, compliance, auditing, and benefits administration. Demonstrated ability to improve processes and diagnose problems. Training will be provided on internal Trexon processes and systems, as required for this position.
