Cicoil Business Development Manager

Position Summary

The Business Development Manager is a critical growth driver at Cicoil, responsible for expanding the company's market presence and revenue through strategic sales leadership, targeted account development, and new market penetration. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring Cicoil maintains its position as an industry leader by identifying and converting high-value opportunities, deepening existing customer relationships, and guiding the strategic direction of business development efforts.

The ideal candidate is a dynamic, results-oriented professional with a proven ability to drive B2B sales in technical or engineered product environments. They bring a rare combination of technical aptitude, business acumen, and interpersonal excellence that allows them to engage effectively with engineers, procurement teams, and executive stakeholders alike. This individual is comfortable navigating long sales cycles, translating complex product capabilities into compelling customer value propositions, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure every customer interaction reflects Cicoil's commitment to quality and innovation.

Working in close coordination with the General Manager and the broader Amphenol corporate team, the Business Development Manager will shape and execute the company's multi-year growth strategy, driving order bookings, expanding the customer database, and championing new product development initiatives that align with evolving market demands.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field; a technical degree is strongly preferred.

  • MBA or advanced degree is a plus.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in B2B technical sales, business development, or account management within electronics manufacturing or related technical industries.

  • Strong preference for candidates with proven sales experience in electronics manufacturing, particularly within the robotics, space, eVTOL, semiconductor, defense, or drone industries. Direct familiarity with the buying cycles, technical requirements, and key decision-makers in these sectors is a significant advantage.

  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas and penetrating new markets.

  • Experience managing complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles with long lead times.

  • Prior experience selling custom engineered products or solutions such as specialty cables, connectors, or electromechanical assemblies to OEM or contract manufacturers is highly desirable.

Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of industry trends in aerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor, and industrial automation sectors.

  • Familiarity with the competitive landscape for specialty cable and interconnect solutions.

  • Knowledge of government/military procurement processes and export control regulations (ITAR) is a plus.

  • Understanding of business development strategy, market segmentation, and competitive positioning.

Skills

  • Strong technical aptitude to understand Cicoil's product portfolio and develop solutions-based proposals that address specific customer engineering requirements.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and skilled in preparing professional customer-facing presentations and proposals.

  • Proficient in CRM platforms (Salesforce or equivalent); experience maintaining accurate pipeline data, forecasts, and activity logs.

  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills with the ability to close complex agreements.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to present confidently to technical and executive audiences.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; data-driven approach to sales strategy and performance measurement.

  • Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative, accountability, and follow-through.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required (up to 30–40%).

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Business Development

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with Cicoil's short- and long-term growth objectives across target verticals including aerospace, defense, medical, semiconductor, and robotics.

  • Identify, research, and qualify new market opportunities, whitespace accounts, and emerging application areas where Cicoil's flat flexible cable and interconnect solutions can deliver superior value.

  • Lead the development of annual and multi-year business development and sales forecasts in partnership with the General Manager and Trexon corporate team.

  • Monitor industry trends, competitive intelligence, and customer roadmaps to proactively adapt strategy and maintain Cicoil's competitive edge.

Sales Execution & Pipeline Management

  • Manage and grow a robust sales pipeline from prospecting through close, ensuring consistent and accurate CRM updates and activity tracking.

  • Contact, engage, and develop business relationships with prospective customers through targeted outreach, trade show participation, customer site visits, industry events, and referral networks.

  • Respond to and evaluate Requests for Quotation (RFQs); develop competitive, solution-oriented proposals that communicate Cicoil's technical differentiation and value.

  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to close agreements that maximize profitability while delivering exceptional customer value.

  • Achieve or exceed assigned order booking and revenue targets on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Maintain and strengthen existing customer relationships by serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for strategic accounts.

  • Conduct regular business reviews with key customers to assess satisfaction, identify expansion opportunities, and surface potential risks.

  • Collaborate with contract management, engineering, and operations teams to ensure seamless customer onboarding, order fulfillment, and issue resolution.

  • Identify and cultivate opportunities for expanded wallet share within existing accounts through new product introductions and program expansions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the engineering team on new product development initiatives by surfacing customer-driven application requirements and translating field insights into product roadmap inputs.

  • Collaborate with operations and supply chain to ensure customer commitments are aligned with manufacturing capacity and lead time capabilities.

  • Provide the General Manager with accurate, detailed monthly and quarterly order booking and revenue forecasts, pipeline reports, and market intelligence briefings.

  • Work closely with the Trexon corporate team to align divisional business development activities with enterprise-wide growth strategies.

Performance, Process & Team Development

  • Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of existing accounts through proactive outreach, regular follow-up, and solutions-based selling.

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with key customer contacts including procurement, engineering, and operations.

  • Identify and pursue upsell and cross-sell opportunities to increase revenue and share of wallet within existing accounts.

  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally to maintain high satisfaction and retention.

Other responsibilities, initiatives, and ad-hoc projects as required.

Pay Range: $90,000-$110,000
