JOB SUMMARY:
The Sr. Consultant, AI Solutions will be a key technical leader within Trace3's AI Research & Development (AI R&D) team, pivotal in designing, architecting, and spearheading the development of innovative, reusable AI accelerators and assets. Reporting to the Head of AI Solutions, this role leverages deep expertise in AI, advanced software engineering, MLOps, and cloud platforms to build proprietary frameworks, accelerators, and packaged solutions.
Key responsibilities include leading the technical design and hands-on development of these assets, ensuring engineering excellence and best practices, and translating research concepts into robust, deployable software. This role will collaborate extensively with AI Research Engineers, the Head of AI Solutions, and provide technical guidance to ensure the R&D team's outputs are high-quality, impactful, and enable Trace3 to deliver cutting-edge AI capabilities.
Key responsibilities include leading the technical aspects of sales pursuits, developing reusable GTM solution assets and intellectual property, and championing Trace3's AI vision through compelling content and presentations. This role will collaborate extensively with sales, marketing, and Trace3’s various business units to identify opportunities, define differentiated offerings, and ultimately drive the growth of Trace3's AI business.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
I. AI Asset Architecture & Development
- Lead the technical architecture, design, and hands-on development of reusable AI frameworks, accelerators, and Trace3-branded software solutions defined in the AI R&D roadmap.
- Write clean, robust, scalable, and maintainable code (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Terraform, Bash/Shell, YAML, etc.) for AI R&D assets, integrating complex AI models, software components, and cloud infrastructure.
- Drive the adoption and implementation of software engineering best practices (e.g., version control with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, code reviews, agile methodologies) within the AI R&D team.
- Develop and refine prototypes and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) based on research findings, turning them into hardened, deployable Trace3 assets.
- Validate the technical feasibility, quality, and performance of all developed AI assets through rigorous design and testing.
- Collaborate on defining the technical aspects of MLOps for R&D assets, including model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management strategies.
II. Asset Packaging & Technical Documentation
- Oversee and contribute significantly to the technical aspects required in hardening and packaging of AI R&D assets for client consumption.
- Create detailed technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, API specifications, deployment guides, and runbooks for all developed assets.
- Develop and maintain reusable code libraries, modules, and software components to accelerate future R&D projects.
- Ensure that all developed assets are packaged in a way that facilitates easy adoption and integration by Trace3's delivery teams and clients.
III. Collaboration & Accelerator Support
- Partner with the Head of AI Solutions on R&D project planning, sprint execution, technical roadmaps, and risk mitigation.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team member on software development, AI engineering, and MLOps best practices.
- Provide support for the pilot deployments of new AI R&D assets by bringing deep technical expertise, troubleshooting, and guidance to Trace3’s internal delivery teams or early adopter clients.
- Partner with practice leaders and account teams to drive GTM activities for newly developed AI R&D assets and packaged offerings.
- Act as a subject matter expert and advisor on engagements where AI R&D assets are being piloted or deployed, ensuring successful client outcomes and gathering feedback.
- Engage with strategic clients and industry leaders to validate R&D concepts and gather insights that inform the AI R&D roadmap.
IV. Applied Research & Thought Leadership
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI/ML engineering, MLOps, software development patterns, cloud-native architectures, and relevant open-source projects.
- Evaluate and prototype emerging technologies and methodologies, applying them to build innovative, efficient, and differentiated AI assets.
- Contribute to the AI R&D team's internal knowledge base, sharing best practices, research findings, and technical insights from development efforts.
- Drive thought leadership initiatives stemming from AI R&D work, including white papers, research publications, conference presentations, and internal knowledge sharing.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years’ experience in software development, with at least 4+ years focused on building AI/ML-powered applications, systems, or platforms.
- Proven track record of leading the technical design, development, and delivery of complex software solutions.
- Expertise in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Azure and AWS IaC (native, Terraform), Bash, and/or proficiency in other relevant programming and scripting languages.
- Strong experience with software engineering best practices: version control (Git), automated testing (unit, integration), CI/CD pipelines, agile methodologies, and code reviews.
- Experience with MLOps principles and tools for model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management.
- (Preferred) Technical knowledge of AI/ML concepts key algorithms and experience integrating models from frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or scikit-learn into production-ready applications.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their AI/ML services, serverless architectures, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience developing technical documentation (architecture, API docs, guides) for software assets.
- Experience with developing or supporting a “community of excellence” to drive collaboration, best practices, and standardization.
- Ability to translate research concepts and prototypes into robust, scalable, and maintainable software.
- Experience developing GTM materials (e.g., solution briefs, technical presentations, white papers).
- Up-to-date understanding of AI industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, excellent time management skills and able to effectively prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume, and evolving work environment.
- Ability to approach customer discussions with a proactive and consultative manner; listen and understand user requests and needs to effectively deliver.
- Strong influencing skills to get things done and inspire business transformation.
- Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills with an ability to present AI R&D concepts to C-Level Executives and non-technical audiences.
- Conflict negotiation and problem-solving skills and agility.
- Ability to travel when needed.
Estimated Pay Range
$200,200 - $215,900 USD
