About the Role:
Our client is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Network Engineer for a 12-month contract to manage and maintain our large-scale enterprise network and security systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring network availability, integrity, and performance, while supporting ongoing projects and integrations.
Work Environment:
- Hybrid: 3 days per week onsite at the Carrollton, GA office
- 12 month contract
Responsibilities:
- Network Management & Maintenance:
- Manage and maintain enterprise-level networks, including switching, routing, SDWAN, and physical hardware.
- Configure, manage, and administer Cisco routers, firewalls, switches (Nexus 9k, Catalyst, Meraki), and other IP-based communication equipment.
- Ensure global switching and routing consistency and provide expert troubleshooting
- Perform network maintenance and system upgrades, including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
- Security & Cloud:
- Implement and manage Cisco ISE for NAC 802.1x deployments
- Stay current with security and networking best practices, offering optimal solutions and protection
- Understand and implement Cloud Networking solutions on GCP and AWS
- Project & Integration:
- Assist with the network integration of acquired companies
- Manage multiple projects involving infrastructure software and hardware installations
- Follow the change management process for production system updates
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Develop and maintain capacity planning analysis, recommendations, and procedures
- Create regular reports and provide analytics to support technical and business decisions
- Coordinate with IT team members to build a comprehensive knowledge base
- Support & Collaboration:
- Resolve operational issues through support tickets and alerts from network and system monitoring tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure resource coordination for technology projects
- Understand and support enterprise wireless solutions, including Cisco and Meraki
Required Skills:
- 5+ years of experience as an Enterprise Network Engineer with data center experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Cisco Nexus 9k, Catalyst routers, and Meraki.
- Deep understanding of networking protocols (IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS).
- Proven experience with Cisco ISE and NAC 802.1x deployments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with cloud networking concepts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certifications.
Estimated Pay Range
$60 - $65 USD
