Position Summary

As the Engagement Architect, you will play a pivotal role in representing complex technology solutions that align with our clients’ strategic business goals. You will work with cross-functional technical teams, collaborate with key vendor partners, and serve as the trusted advisor for both internal and external stakeholders. Your deep technical knowledge, strong leadership skills, and passion for innovation will ensure that our customers receive cutting-edge, efficient, and scalable solutions.  Note: this position requires at least 50% travel and weekend commitments.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Lead the discovery, design, and of end-to-end IT solutions that address customer needs and align with their business objectives.
  • Translate business requirements into technical architectures ensuring scalability, resiliency, performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Understand design criteria around business-critical applications and the interactions between multiple user types i.e. Doctors, Medical Staff, Patients, etc.

Technical Leadership

  • Serve as the primary technical authority, providing guidance and instruction to solution engineers, consultants, and project teams throughout services engagement lifecycle
  • Create and present detailed technical procedures for implementation ensuring confidence to business stakeholders
  • Establish technical best practices, frameworks, and processes that ensure high-quality delivery and repeatable success.

Client Engagement & Consultancy

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, understanding their business drivers, current technology environments, and future IT standards
  • Collaborate with sales and account management teams to align client technical and business objectives
  • Partner with customers on strategic planning, providing thought leadership on digital transformation and emerging technology trends.
  • Technical consultant experience in the medical/veterinary industry

Qualifications

Technical Expertise

  • Deep understanding in design and architecture around edge networking, compute, storage, and workstations
  • Experience working with medical/veterinary applications such as PACS, PIMs (Patient Information Management system), Lab Integration – IDEXX & Abaxis
  • CCNP and/or other relevant industry certifications preferred
  • Deep experience with traditional route/switch technologies, wireless technologies, and software defined networking platforms
  • SD-WAN design and Implementation experience
  • Experience with automation scripting/platforms such as PowerShell and Python.  
  • Design and Implementation experience with virtual solutions such as VMware and Hyper-V and ancillary infrastructure – Dell and HPe
  • Understanding of edge services critical to the business such as DNS, DHCP, System IP Configurations (workstation and medical equipment), Network Printing, etc.
  • Design/Implementation experience around Microsoft RDHosts and RDFarms
  • Understanding and implementation experience around Server RAID settings 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems (MIS) or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in solution architecture, systems engineering, or technical consulting roles.
  • Proven track record designing and delivering complex, multi-tier solutions in enterprise environments.

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor teams, influence stakeholders, and drive change.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities, with experience conveying complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to quickly understand customer environments and tailor solutions to meet unique business requirements.
  • Strategic thinker with a customer-centric mindset and the ability to balance business objectives with technical feasibility.
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.

Estimated Pay Range

$160,000 - $180,000 USD
