JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for a Lab Network Engineer who will serve as a Network Engineer and Developer supporting network build out and deployments to the operational environment as necessary. The candidate will work within an agile scrum team and plan work based on customer requirements and program contractual agreements.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Proven network engineer with hands-on mid-level experience and knowledge of network design, development and testing methodologies.
• Be very familiar with the following: the TCP/IP Model, the OSI Model, Multicast, Firewalls, Routing Protocols, experience with capturing and deciphering packets (50% of testing efforts involve packet capture and analysis), Network Address Translation (NAT), Network Timing, ability to read technical network diagrams.
• Specific experience with Juniper and/or Cisco networking equipment required
• A self-motivated individual and possess strong verbal/written communications skills
• Solid understanding of the OSI Model, TCP/IP, routing protocols BGP and OSPF.
• Proven network traffic analysis, diagnostic and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience in UDP multicast, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs.
• Understanding of standard DOD security practices such as, STIG compliance and system accreditation implementation efforts.
• Experience working with Firewalls and IPS/IDS Desired
• Must have previous experience with presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
• Must have experience working collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers as well as independently on large field projects.
• Candidates with prior C2BMC network experience are highly desired.
• Also desired are candidates with knowledge, skill sets or experience using protocol analyzers/sniffers (such as Wireshark). Industry vendor certifications from Juniper (JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE) a must and from Cisco (CCNA, CCNP) a plus.
• Also desired previous experience in authentication & encryption methods/capabilities (TACACS+, Active Directory, GEM-X), Virtualization technologies such a VMWare vCenter and vSphere.
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
• Familiarization with virtualization is highly desired.
• Agile development and related test methodologies
• Automated testing framework, Python, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
• Manipulation of large data sets, spreadsheet analysis, and associated tools
• Development of action plans based upon analysis of data, documenting deficiency reports, and presenting analysis results and plans of action orally and/or in written format (e.g., slides, annotated slides, test report document).
• Hands on experience WAN optimizer, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment. –
• Solid understanding of JUNOS preferred.
EDUCATION: Career level typically with an advanced degree and 3+ years experience or bachelors with 5+ years experience or equivalent
LOCATION: Full Time/ On-Site in Colorado Springs, CO
CLEARANCE REQUIRMENT: Secret
DOD 8570 REQUIREMENT: IAT - Level II (or attain within 60 days)
SALARY RANGE: $100,000 - $122,000
