JOB SUMMARY:
The Cyber Security Engineer II is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced cybersecurity solutions that protect organizational systems, networks, and data from cyber threats. This role serves as a senior technical resource within the cybersecurity team, providing expertise in security architecture, threat detection, vulnerability management, and incident response.
The Cyber Security Engineer II works closely with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to ensure that security controls are integrated across enterprise environments and aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Have knowledge in cybersecurity standards including NERC, CIP, and FISMA and ensure that cybersecurity infrastructure meets these established standards and oversees the initiative to ensure that the infrastructure remains in compliance as well as correcting any issues which may lead to non-compliance.
- Directly involved with policy decisions that affect cybersecurity framework and must clearly communicate specific cybersecurity concerns and provide solutions to incorporate effective measures against possible compromise as part of the organization's cybersecurity strategic plan.
- Be responsible for the overall maintenance of information technology security systems and protocols.
- Design and implement security measures for hardware, software, and network platforms to ensure protection from cyber-attacks and any other possible harmful intrusions that could compromise or damage data and network infrastructure.
- Prepare and present reports to senior management as well as others involved in information technology infrastructure.
- Work as effective communicators with respect to training and information dissemination concerning all aspects of security measures.
- Assess existing cybersecurity systems and protocols and design and implement upgrades to existing measures as well as implementing new procedures.
- Constantly conduct risk-assessments of existing network hardware and information delivery systems to prevent and mitigate risk.
- Assist with security audits, system authorization activities, and documentation.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related technical field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
- 3-5 years direct experience setting up, performing, and analyzing vulnerability scans with Tenable preferred
- Must meet Requirements outlined in DoDM 8140.03 for System Administrator (451)
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting federal government or regulated environments.
- Active TS/SCI Required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position is performed within a secure, classified workspace. Employees must comply with all applicable security protocols and access control procedures, including restrictions on personal electronic devices and the handling of sensitive information.
Estimated Pay Range
$65,000 - $75,000 USD
