JOB SUMMARY:  

We are looking for a skilled hands-on technical Systems Engineer with subject matter expertise in test and integration to help contribute to our Mission Engineering team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers. This position requires an understanding of all aspects of the systems engineering life cycle to develop and deploy technical solutions. You will be part of a talented team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security. 

 

This project delivers a mission-assured technical refresh of the CCIC2S Oracle database and RHEL operating environments, upgrading legacy systems to Oracle 19c and RHEL 9.7 while preserving full operational continuity.  It includes comprehensive engineering, integration, cybersecurity, testing, and deployment activities to ensure zero data loss, improved performance, strengthened security, and seamless compatibility across all CCIC2S mission systems.  Location will be north Colorado Springs initially and future work at Chidlaw and Peterson AFB occasionally.   

 

SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

 

  • Support systems engineering, test, and integration activities to ensure the installation matches the configuration-managed baseline and to verify settings and operations. 
  • Develop and execute test activities to exercise high-level functions and capabilities and ensure there is no unintended deviation from the test environment. 
  • Work with Linux, Windows, and virtual server environments, with the ability to support Oracle-based infrastructure and applications. 
  • Test and integration activities include troubleshooting installed software to identify and resolve issues related to system installation or incorrect settings. 
  • Troubleshoot common system installation, configuration, and operational issues and identify appropriate corrective actions. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

 

  • Candidate must be a self-starter with good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills and an ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.   
  • Candidate must be able to develop test and integration plans and procedures from sources such as functional and performance requirements and stated technical capabilities, monitor the integration of test resources, execute detailed procedures, analyze results, and present the results orally and in writing. 
  • Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, must be able to work effectively and cooperatively with people within and external to the program, and must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications.   
  • Candidate should have experience in troubleshooting of small to large scale infrastructure.  
  • Linux, Windows, and Oracle environment experience required. 
  • Virtual server experience preferred. 
  • Candidate should have knowledge of or practical experience with systems engineering and DoD test methodologies, milestones, and terminology. 
  • Experience with ITW/AA operational systems preferred. 
  • Experience with off-the-shelf statistical analysis packages preferred. 
  • Candidate should have knowledge of systems engineering milestones such as SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR. 
  • Candidate should have knowledge of the Systems Engineering V-Model, requirements engineering, DoDAF, and ICDs. 
  • For this position, network architecture and device knowledge and scripting skills for data mining and formatted display of data are a plus. 
  • 10+ years of relevant experience 
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject preferred  
  • Minimum Active SECRET Clearance Required

This position is performed within a secure, classified workspace. Employees must comply with all applicable security protocols and access control procedures, including restrictions on personal electronic devices and the handling of sensitive information.

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.

Estimated Pay Range

$180,000 - $200,000 USD
