*This position can be either W2 Contract or FTE - This role is fully on site in the Baltimore/Annapolis Junction area - Top Secret clearance REQUIRED, SCI Eligibility preferred - 3 Office locations are 15 min apart
JOB SUMMARY:
The Network Engineer (NE III) will integrate with our overall Engineering team and be deployed to customer locations working on specific strategic engagements. This role will be deployed to customer locations working on specific Federal programs or Commercial contracts, supporting specific customer requirements or mission domains throughout the detailed design, development integration, test and deployment of critical IT systems.
The Network Engineer III will be installing, maintaining, and evaluating network systems and communications. You will be assisting in the network architecture design implementation & configuration of network infrastructures and will be working with routers, switches, firewalls, etc. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and resolving network issues and will likely be working independently. All customer projects must be completed with a sense of urgency and timeliness, exceeding customer expectations to ensure high quality work done by Trace3.
SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Day to day on-site interaction with our customers and become key member of customer program teams
- Producing design documentation and as-built documentation with little or no assistance
- Delivering technology-specific, on-site engineering services to our customers with little or no supervision on medium to high complexity projects
- Delivering & documenting strategic customer service engagements according to Trace3 guidelines
- Providing clear, concise, and timely communication of projects' status to customers, supervisor, and project managers
- Operating under little supervision on large projects; operating independently on small projects
- Achieving billing time goals while working toward continued training advancement
- Responsible for providing mentorship to the level one Field Engineers
- Installing, configuring & maintaining computer network equipment
- Designing, deploying, supporting, and troubleshooting enterprise technologies
- Working with a designated tech writer in developing documentation for existing networks and maintaining documentation for all new networks and changes
- Analyzing and maintaining load balancing, firewall and security products under the network umbrella
- Administering routers, switches, and firewalls
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
This role requires a TS security clearance, SCI Eligibility preferred. This person must have the ability to work as a member of the team, excellent communication skills and strong leadership skills.
- Strong background in network design and integration, BOM creation, and implementation
- Experience in networking: This includes many types of routers, switches, firewalls; Cisco, Aruba, Juniper, VPN solutions, etc.
- Active TS clearance minimum, SCI eligibility preferred
- VMware vCenter and NSX-T experience
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, OpenShift, Tanzu, and other solutions
- Experience working in a DevOps environment
- Willingness to learn about other technologies and solutions i.e., Anduril and Starlink
- Ability to interface with different organizations, government entities, and commercial contractors
- AWS, Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), CI/CD, Cyber Security
- Familiarity with Agile software development: Confluence, JIRA, MagicDraw, etc.
- Familiarity with TDM and serial circuits
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 8+ years of experience
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study preferred but not required

Estimated Pay Range
$165,000 - $175,000 USD
