
Head of Compliance

You will work in a team of bright-minded individuals looking after regulatory compliance, licensing and supervision, internal policy oversight, and governance frameworks. Here’s what you’ll be doing as Head of Compliance:
- Ensuring the company adheres to applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and Articles of Association
- Building and maintaining the compliance programme and framework, including policies and plans that ensure protection and integrity of regulatory licences
- Acting as the main point of contact with regulatory authorities and overseeing the Regulatory reporting function in the ongoing regulatory communication, reporting and requests
- Providing regular reports and updates to the Board and Chief Executive Officer, including insights on regulatory developments and internal compliance activities
- Developing and implementing compliance monitoring plans in line with risk-based approaches
- Leading regulatory licencing and authorisation efforts
- Monitoring changes in legislation and industry regulations, assessing their potential impact on business operations and recommending proactive steps
- Successfully leading regulatory exams and remediation projects
- Providing expert advice, guidance and training to business units to support their understanding and application of relevant laws and regulatory obligations
- Oversee regulatory reporting ensuring compliance with various rules and regulations set by the respective regulatory bodies
- Identifying gaps in processes and overseeing effective remediation measures
- Overseeing strong board and senior management governance in relation to compliance obligations
- Representing the company before relevant state authorities, including the Bank of Lithuania
- Collaborating with teams to ensure consistent and compliant information handling across the organisation
You’ll report to our Management Board and administratively to the Chief Executive Officer.
Here’s what we’d love from our new Head of Compliance:
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior compliance role within financial services or fintech
- A degree in Law
- Extensive knowledge of local and EU regulations, directives and guidelines governing the financial services sector including but not limited to AML/CTF, Payment Services, Conduct of Business, Fit and Proper, Safeguarding, GDPR and DORA
- Regulatory licensing and authorisation experience
- Proven ability to manage relationships with regulators and lead regulatory inspections
- Strong governance experience with senior management and board interaction
- Exceptional communication skills in Lithuanian and English, both written and verbal
- A track record of designing and implementing successful compliance programmes and frameworks
- Demonstrated experience delivering impactful compliance training across teams
- Experience in monitoring regulatory change and evaluating compliance risks
And if you can also do this stuff, even better:
- Previous experience in a high-growth fintech or regulated payments/e-money firm
- Familiarity with regulatory obligations across multiple EU jurisdictions
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
- Proactive and collaborative mindset, capable of balancing compliance needs with commercial objectives
