Implementation Lead, Physician Enterprise
Implementation Lead, Physician Enterprise
Why Translucent
Healthcare providers drive $2.5 trillion in medical expenditures annually — and operate on razor-thin 2–5% margins. Despite these stakes, the finance teams behind these organizations are buried in spreadsheets, manual data pulls, and disconnected systems, spending more time finding and cleaning data than actually using it to make decisions.
Translucent is changing that. We're building the agentic AI platform designed exclusively for healthcare finance — giving every finance team, department, service line their own arsenal of AI Agents that run 24/7, understand their specific data, business logic, and workflows.
Founded in 2024 and backed by GV, NEA, FPV, and Virtue, we've already been deployed by healthcare organizations managing over $5 billion in combined revenue. The product-market fit is real, the problem is massive, and we're just getting started.
About the role
We're hiring a founding Technical Implementation Lead to own the technical delivery of Physician Enterprise everywhere it's deployed — a system of record for medical group performance, service-line economics, and physician compensation, used directly by Physician Enterprise CFO/FP&A and Compensation teams. This is a new discipline at Translucent: one person holding the full picture of a product across every account running it, rather than that expertise being rebuilt or fragmented account by account.
You'll partner with an Account Owner on each account. They own the long-term relationship — client trust, change management, training, and long-term value realization. You own the implementation — requirements, scope, delivery, and quality — and you run the pod day-to-day. You're also a design partner to Product and Product Engineering as they build net-new capability for Physician Enterprise, since no one else holds as complete a picture of what's actually needed in the field. This is hands-on work: you'll be in requirements sessions, reviewing data models, and making the calls yourself.
What you'll do
- Own the technical implementation of Physician Enterprise across every enterprise account where it's deployed — scoping, requirements, delivery plans, and quality.
- Lead requirements gathering directly with client stakeholders, translating provider productivity, labor cost, service-line performance, and physician comp problems into structured technical scope.
- Act as the final decision-maker and quality check for all work produced by your product's pods, you hold the authority and accountability for what ships.
- Manage the day-to-day activity of your product's pod(s): prioritizing work, unblocking Analytics and Insights Engineers, and keeping delivery moving across every account you own.
- Partner directly with Product Managers and Product Engineering on net-new product development — bringing field-tested requirements and technical realities into the roadmap, and stress-testing new capability before it reaches a customer.
- Build and maintain the delivery plan for Physician Enterprise across accounts — milestones, dependencies, risks, and sign-offs — using structured, standardized delivery tracking.
- Own the transition from active build to steady-state technical ownership on each account post-launch, in coordination with the Account Owner.
- Help build the implementation playbooks and standards that make Physician Enterprise easier to deploy at the next account than the last.
What we're looking for
Must-haves
- 7+ years of combined experience across hands-on technical work (data/analytics engineer, solutions/implementation engineer, or similar) and direct ownership of client-facing technical delivery — you've been the technical decision-maker on complex, high-stakes implementations before.
- Deep fluency in physician enterprise operations or finance — provider productivity, labor cost management, service-line performance, site of care optimization or physician compensation — strong enough that you can sit in a requirements session, hear a client describe a margin, workflow or transparency problem, and translate it into buildable technical scope yourself.
- Genuine technical fluency: you can read a data model, evaluate an integration or configuration approach, and make final calls on technical quality and risk without needing to escalate.
- Comfort leading through expertise and judgment rather than formal authority — operating as a pod lead with real decision-making power and no direct reports, including effective partnership with a non-technical relationship counterpart.
Nice-to-haves
- Prior experience as a technical lead for a single product line across multiple enterprise customers, rather than a single-account implementation.
- Experience directing or mentoring engineers.
- Comfort presenting technical tradeoffs and risk directly to senior client stakeholders (CFO/FP&A level).
- Familiarity with the hospital or health system IT landscape (e.g., EHR/Epic-adjacent workflows).
Education
Bachelor's degree (or higher), or equivalent experience owning technical implementations and direct client-facing delivery. We weigh hands-on ownership and outcomes over formal credentials.
