Traversal is the AI Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) for the enterprise—already trusted by some of the largest companies in the world to troubleshoot, remediate, and even prevent the most complex production incidents. The Role

As an early member of Traversal’s design team, you’ll play a key role in shaping how users experience and interact with our agentic AI platform. You’ll help define the design principles, patterns, and workflows that make our powerful technology intuitive, high-trust, and impactful. This is a unique opportunity to join at an inflection point—our core AI systems are maturing, and we’re now focused on crafting a seamless, user-centric product experience.

You’ll work cross-functionally with engineering, AI research, and product teams to translate complex system behavior into clear, usable interfaces that support high-pressure, collaborative incident response. Our users rely on Traversal to help navigate petabytes of observability data and pinpoint root causes in real time—so thoughtful, performant design is critical.

You’ll own key product surfaces from ideation to execution, working closely with AI researchers, engineers, and product leadership to bring thoughtful, high-trust user experiences to life.

Responsibilities

  • Design core product experiences from end to end—flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final visuals.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and AI teams to turn powerful tech into intuitive UI.
  • Balance usability with the constraints and opportunities of underlying AI systems.
  • Create a cohesive design system that scales across surfaces and use cases.
    Iterate quickly based on feedback from users and internal stakeholders.
  • Help shape product strategy by advocating for user needs and product clarity.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in product design roles.
  • Strong proficiency with Figma and prototyping tools.
  • Portfolio demonstrating thoughtful UX and clean, high-quality UI.
  • Demonstrable strength in visual design, information architecture, and interaction-design
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Comfort working in fast-paced, technical environments with ambiguity.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SaaS products, particularly PLG and/or Enterprise SaaS
  • Background in large-scale, complex, data-driven applications
  • Familiarity with AI or LLM-powered products

Compensation

We offer competitive compensation, startup equity, health insurance, and additional benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this full-time, in-person role in New York is $150,000–$300,000, plus equity and benefits. Our salary ranges are based on location, level, and role. Individual compensation is determined by experience, skills, and job-related knowledge.
