Senior Associate, Operations

Mississauga, ON

Posting Closing Date: 31 July 2025

Team Rubicon Canada (TR Canada) is veteran-led humanitarian organization, built to serve global communities before, during, and after disasters and crises. Our people, known as Greyshirts, are the cornerstone of our mission and success. We are committed to fostering an environment that embodies the principles of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI&B)—inclusive of beliefs, cultural backgrounds, job experiences, thoughts, and ideas—across all aspects of our operations.

We are seeking a Senior Associate, Operations. You are a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enabling disaster response through sharp planning, coordination, and operational excellence. Reporting to the National Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by translating objectives into actionable operational plans and ensuring the seamless execution of disaster response and service projects across Canada. As the Senior Associate, Operations, you will be responsible for enabling mission planning efforts, coordinating field operations, and continuously improving the systems, processes, and training that drive our readiness and impact.

Every day is a challenge, but every month brings new opportunities. This position can be hybrid or remote with some travel required.

  • Develop and deliver training, facilitate exercises, and support After Action Reviews (AARs) to build capacity and integrate continuous learning into operations.
  •  Leverage data and situational awareness tools to support planning, decision-making, and real-time operational coordination during deployments.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Background

  • Post-Secondary Certificate or Diploma preferred (in Emergency Management, Political Science, Business or a related field), or a demonstrated equivalent of military operational experience and planning.
  •  2+ years of experience in Emergency Management, Military Operations, or Humanitarian Disaster Response. Experience with Team Rubicon Canada preferred.
  • Completion of Incident Command System (ICS) 200 is required; ICS 300 or higher is strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience using data/analytics to enable evidence-driven decision making and planning.
  • Ability to develop and execute detailed mission plans, including logistics, staffing, and resource allocation, while integrating situational awareness and regional input.
  • Skilled in building and maintaining relationships with internal teams and external partners, including government agencies and community organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional experience with Asana Project Management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
