We are committed to fostering an environment that embodies the principles of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEI&B)—inclusive of beliefs, cultural backgrounds, job experiences, thoughts, and ideas—across all aspects of our operations.
We are seeking a Sr Associate, Technology Operations. You are a key player in ensuring Team Rubicon Canada’s field tech systems are ready and effective for disaster response. Reporting to the Manager, Information & Technology Operations, you’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving the technology infrastructure that drives disaster response, volunteer coordination, and operational efficiency. Your work will directly support secure data flow, smooth field operations, and overall mission readiness.

- Provide hands-on technical support during deployments. This includes setting up field communications, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring smooth data flow between field teams and central systems.
- Maintain and manage the lifecycle of field technology kits. This means ensuring equipment is ready, tracked, and well supported before, during, and after deployments.
- Support the planning and upkeep of field tech assets, contribute to the development of volunteer Technology Strike Teams, and help deliver training for staff and volunteers.
- Work closely with Logistics, Field Leadership, and the broader Technology Team to ensure tech systems are reliable, secure, and aligned with operational needs.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, support cloud platform maintenance, contribute to cybersecurity efforts, and help create digital training resources and SOPs.
- Support special projects, process improvements, and cross-functional initiatives.
Experience and Background
- Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience in military or first responder field operations will also be considered.

- Certifications in mobile device management, network administration, or remote communications tools are considered strong assets.
- Demonstrated success in troubleshooting technical issues, supporting field operations, and maintaining secure, scalable systems.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, especially in high-pressure or unpredictable field conditions.
- Ability to train and support staff and volunteers on technical tools and workflows, both in-person and digitally.
- Clear and empathetic communicator who can bridge technical and non-technical teams.
- Adaptable and resourceful, with a proactive approach to learning and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency using Linux, Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android environments; familiar with scripting (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) and mobile device management tools.
- Professional experience with Asana project management software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
