Senior Engineering Manager

About Treasury Prime

The pandemic has revolutionized sending and receiving digital payments, and Treasury Prime plays a lead role in that transformation. The Treasury Prime team builds cutting-edge API technology that connects fintech companies, small businesses, and community banks to help them provide innovative financial products to their customers. Treasury Prime is backed by Deciens Capital, Nyca Partners, QED Investors, SaaStr Fund, Susa Ventures, and Y Combinator.

We are a high-growth small company of ~45 people with a unique culture of mutual respect and a supportive environment. Tearsheet named Treasury Prime the Best Banking Service Company in 2021.

If you're a go-getter passionate about making an impact in the API banking technology space and Treasury Prime's mission, we want to hear from you!

At Treasury Prime, our mission is to empower developers to build new and amazing financial products by making it easy to connect with banks. Our APIs provide a wide range of banking services, from opening and servicing accounts to making payments, issuing cards, and more. We're experts at managing banks' legacy systems, and our deep integrations give our APIs the power to do anything the bank can do.

We're replacing the decades-old mainframe software that has hamstrung banks and made it difficult or impossible for fintech developers to build great products. Treasury Prime is the best way for banks to modernize their software stack and for fintech developers to find the best bank partner and get to market fast. Currently, we are using Clojure, React on the front end, Postgres database, and hosted on AWS.

We're looking for a senior engineering manager to scale our engineering team. Help us improve at planning and delivering projects while coaching software engineers to grow within their careers.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a small team of talented software engineers, take ownership of key product areas, and be part of the team that enables the next generation of fintech innovation.

Three skills essential for this role:

  • Establish processes and systems to sustain the growth of the engineering team
  • Deliver product roadmap on time
  • Set clear expectations and deliver effective feedback

Three additional skills a superstar will have for this role:

  • Work cross-functionally to establish buy-in
  • Partner to the business - help close deals, talk to customers, etc.
  • Charisma and a large network for sourcing high-quality referrals

You will:

  • Help our engineering team get better at scoping and planning projects
  • Collaborate with product managers to prioritize and execute on our roadmap
  • Improve processes and establish standards for shipping high-quality software projects
  • Mentor and develop talent within the engineering organization
  • Grow the team by hiring great software engineers
  • Model technical excellence through code review

You may be a good fit for this role if you:

  • Have previously worked in a senior/staff/principal engineering role and have driven the technical work for a group of engineers
  • Have shipped software in a highly regulated industry
  • Have experience designing, building, and delivering world-class software systems
  • Are passionate about creating great developer experiences
  • Think systematically and are effective in navigating ambiguously defined problem spaces
  • Be able to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively
  • Thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment and are excited to create new things

While these are not hard requirements for the job, the best candidates will meet many of these criteria.

We look forward to hearing from you!

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
