About the role
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and highly motivated biotherapeutics scientist to join our team. With a strong background in antibody-drug-conjugate discovery and characterization and a track record of contributing to multidisciplinary drug discovery teams, this position will play a critical role in driving Treeline’s portfolio forward. You will play a key role in the discovery and optimization of antibodies against biologically diverse targets and the design, characterization, and mechanistic profiling of potential first-in-class antibody-drug-conjugates. You will closely collaborate with cancer biologists, biochemists, biophysicists, medicinal chemists, and protein scientists to test therapeutic hypotheses and enable forward progress of biotherapeutics drug discovery programs. Additionally, you will drive advances in technology, infrastructure, and biotherapeutics development to accelerate the path to medicines.

Responsibilities
- Lead antibody discovery and optimization campaigns in collaboration with internal experts and external CROs
- Independently manage diverse mAb discovery and production, and ADC generation and characterization CROs to ensure timely generation of decision-driving project data
- Collaborate closely with medicinal chemistry, protein science, and biology team on the design, production, and characterization of novel antibody-drug-conjugates with first in class potential
- Establish and run assays to rapidly drive the biotherapeutics optimization processes in close collaboration with the chemistry, biophysics, and biotherapeutics teams
- Evaluate and develop new approaches and technologies within the biotherapeutics group to further streamline the ADC drug discovery process
- Maintain an electronic lab notebook in compliance with company policies
- Help establish the biotherapeutics group and contribute to building a culture that embraces continuous learning and improvement
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or related discipline with at least 8 years of industry experience, or PhD with ~2-6 years of experience in biotech/pharma
- Previous experience in antibody discovery, optimization, or engineering required
- Previous experience in the design and development of antibody-drug-conjugate or other engineered biotherapeutics strongly preferred
- Understanding of cancer signaling pathways, protein homeostasis, and regulation of gene expression
- A track record of leading from the bench to drive biologics lead optimization and characterization
- Experience with automation is preferred
- Knowledge and experience with oncology animal models and in vivo pharmacology is a plus but not required
- Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively on cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams
