About the Role

Treeline is seeking a self-motivated compound and sample research associate to join the Compound Management team and support Treeline’s drug discovery efforts. This role will help coordinate and manage compounds across the Treeline organization and with our CRO partners. In partnership with the team, this role will support custom processes to optimize and reduce the time needed to test samples. This is a great opportunity to build, evolve, and support Treeline’s capabilities and contribute to bringing new therapies to patients in need.

 

About you

The goal is to provide high quality compound intake and request fulfillment with strong customer focus in a core support area. You will be involved with many projects simultaneously and work cross-functionally with colleagues. Your experience with a variety of automation, analytical software, quality control, sample management, and electronic notebooks will be important to identify problems early, anticipate challenges, and proactively develop solutions.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Daily operation of a variety of laboratory instruments and automation systems, while interfacing with web-based software tools.
  • Processing new samples into the compound archive inventory including accurate sample weighing and dissolution.
  • Perform sample preparation, produce assay ready plates, and be involved in various quality control activities.
  • Coordination of the shipment of orders with the Operation Team.
  • Support the team on implementing inventory management software for requesting and order fulfillment processes.
  • Provide support and maintenance/QC for onsite instruments in coordination with the lab manager.
  • Support compound management, logistics, and communications with Treeline project teams.
  • Flexibility to travel to the San Diego Treeline site and provide compound management support, as needed.

 

Qualifications

  • BS in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline
  • 3-5 years of research experience in a biotechnology, pharmaceutical environment is required. Preference for compound management lab experience.
  • Familiarity with operating and troubleshooting various instrumentation including automated compound stores, HPLC/LCMS, liquid handlers, acoustic dispensers, plate handlers, weigh stations, tube sorters, and pipettors.
  • Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, with a flexible and solution-oriented mindset
  • Experience in and appreciation for providing a high level of customer support and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams, across various internal sites and CROS, in a high-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and concisely through strong written and verbal skills.
  • High aptitude for common computer programs (Excel and Word), in addition to being motivated to learn new software and hardware systems. Coding experience is a plus.
