SCADA Integration Engineer II

Position Overview

Trimark Associates is looking for a SCADA Integration Engineer II to join its growing team! This position will work both independently and with the SCADA Engineering team and project managers. Responsible for integrating real-time Intelligent Electronic Devices (IED’s) and computer systems at electric power generation plants, including utility-scale solar power, wind power, hydro-electric, and natural gas. Typical devices include RTUs, PLCs, SCADA systems, Plant Control Systems, electric power meters and meteorological (MET) data loggers. The successful candidate will design, install, configure, program and test SCADA systems.

In this position you should have a high-level understanding of complex SCADA and control systems as you work on end-to-end communications networks to exchange data with a variety of devices. You will specify equipment, present designs for review, prepare complex drawings of systems and interfaces as well as configure, test, and troubleshoot equipment. Confident interaction with customers will be necessary.

Successful candidate must be able to work independently and/or with a diverse collaborative team including clients. Responsible to perform other duties as assigned.

Roles and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for successful completion of assigned projects and for maintaining and improving client relationships as well as developing and growing new technical service areas related to SEL RTACs.  Completion of these functions requires technical competence in primary production roles as well as leadership competence in working with clients and mentoring and supervising team members assigned to projects.  Assigned projects will include SCADA, automation, and communications for utility and industrial/commercial clients throughout the United States.  Systems to be analyzed will include renewable generation facilities, energy storage sites, and substation devices & equipment. 

Job Requirements

  • Understand CAISO requirements for Remote Intelligence Gateways (RIG) units.
  • Configure, Implement, and commission RIG units
  • Independently design and develop SCADA systems.
  • Lead small to medium-sized projects and oversee execution.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and system optimizations.
  • Manage and configure communication networks for SCADA systems.
  • Train end-users and junior engineers.

Candidate Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience with SCADA systems.
  • Strong proficiency in SCADA software (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition).
  • Detailed knowledge of networking and communication protocols.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Advanced programming and system integration skills.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior staff.

Pay Transparency

This announcement is open to Senior job levels.  The base pay range for this position is $104,000-115,000 annually.  This is an overtime Exempt position.  Compensation is based on market rate, job level, job related knowledge, skills, experience, education, and certifications.  This is a Full-Time opportunity.
