JUST - Senior Community Director (Bilingual)
About JUST
JUST is a nonprofit financial platform and Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) on a mission to close the racial wealth gap by investing in ambitious Black and Brown women across Texas through capital, coaching, and community. Since 2016, we’ve deployed over $30 million in small loans to more than 10,000 women with a 99% repayment rate—all based on trust, without requiring credit scores or collateral.
We don’t just make loans. We invest in leaders. Our JETA model turns clients into trusted community leaders who guide their peers toward financial independence and generational wealth. Our ultimate vision? A just Texas—where ownership is possible, joy is present, and prosperity is shared.
We are headquartered in Austin with operations in Dallas, Houston, and El Paso and we have plans to expand across Texas. We are motivated to prove the potential of underestimated communities to be their own change agents when given access to the right resources.
We believe in and make decisions around the JUST Core Values:
- Empathy: People first - We begin and end with curiosity.
- Action: A bias toward action - We test, not to be right, but to learn.
- Community: Juntos salimos adelante - We focus on solutions, remain open, and act with consistency.
- Trust: Believe in potential - We believe trust is earned and a two-way street.
- Perseverance: Keep going - We believe change happens over time.

The Opportunity
We are hiring a Senior Community Director to lead our program operations in Houston. We have lent over $3 million and have nearly 600 active entrepreneurs in Houston since launching in 2022 and we are just getting started! This position plays a mission-critical role in the advancement of JUST and our community of female entrepreneurs. The Senior Community Director will lead the expansion of our services in Houston and will eventually hire additional Community Directors to support our growth. This person models our values, organizes a local community of entrepreneurs, and provides support to help them achieve success. We are defined by the entrepreneurial spirit of our community and thus look for team members who share the drive toward overcoming obstacles with creativity, determination, and passion for starting and growing businesses.
One of the most important and unique aspects of our model is the development of JUST Entrepreneur Trust Agents (JETA). JETAs are small business owners who act as role models and organize support groups of other female entrepreneurs to provide opportunities for accountability and growth. Community Directors recruit, train, and support JETAs in their city, and build trust with the women we serve by being present in their lives and supporting them in achieving their goals through the JUST program. Additionally, the Senior Community Director role also includes organizing logistics, program implementation, and coordinating with community partners. This role is not about being a business or financial expert—we provide training and support on the tools and frameworks we use. The role requires a commitment to service and a solution-focused approach in the face of adversity.
JUST provides capital, coaching, and a supportive community of female entrepreneurs. The role of the Community Director in each of these three key areas is:
- Capital: Especially within the low-income communities we serve, JUST realizes that money matters. It is not enough to change the trajectory of families out of poverty—we want to help women start on the path to creating wealth. We offer small loans based on trust, designed to help people succeed and then we help them build upon that success. The Community Director communicates our very well-defined, trust-based lending process to our clients and then monitors the loans and communicates with clients on a daily basis to ensure they are successful with repayment.
- Coaching: JUST has developed a series of simple frameworks that bring structure to our clients’ businesses and finances. The Community Director is a facilitator of these frameworks through various group training modules. We emphasize that our Community Directors do not teach, rather we guide our clients as they make decisions for their own unique situations.
- Community: Everything JUST does centers around creating and reinforcing a supportive community. The JUST program leverages the accountability of small group meetings and the inspiration of large community gatherings. Community Directors organize and facilitate successful events.
